Modding

Wouldn't it be great if we could mod Speccy games just like today's PC games.

    Ekoman, I wouldn`t normally post negative feedback, but Oh My God, what have you done to your +2... I think my main point is the horrible sick colour of the main thing, sorry, but ... in the words of Cartman "You shouldn` ah done that!"

    On the plus side, your game (isometric 3D one) looks very nice... keep up the good work :)

    Ermh - well. I do agree, but I might as well give a shot at a retroactive excuse for this vandalisation... Now, in the 21st century, I find the +2 design very aesthetic indeed - very IKEA:ish - but it was way before it's time! My mod was an attempt to inject more 80's disco into the machine. Yadda yadda yadda.

    It would be fantastic if we could, yes indeedy... with .z80`s or snaps and knowledge of where character or sound data is stored in memory for certain games an editor could be written to allow the graphics/sound fx and music to be modded/changed...

    This would be cooler perhaps even than the 256 games (although I think they are amazing, I wish I could draw :( )

    But would anybody be willing to write a pc prog to do such a thing when we all know that very games would be modded, and perhaps some would be modded badly, so as to `downgrade` them...

    @ Ekoman - I think the only reason I mentioned my dislike of you +2 was (apart from dislike) is that I`ve never had the balls to try something similar to mine... Yet I`m wondering what colours I would like :)

    That +2 looks like the cake which CRASH made to mock the rumours of the Amstrad Loki...

    If?

    Aren't there enough Manic Miner mods to prove my point for me?

    Manic Miner mods. Oh yeah. I forgot about them.

    about the only creative thing I ever put on the net was a re-wrtiing of the concrete poem The Computers First Christmas card called;

    "Hex's First Hogswatch"

    that, and a short essay on how to assisinate Hex.
