Soccer Boss

edited March 2010 in Games
I remember playing a game called 'Soccer Boss' many many years ago. Looking through the archives it doesn't appear to be there. Any ideas??

The search engine works as it should - Soccer Boss. ;)

Looks like the same game with a much earlier inlay cover. I take it that the game I had was a re-issue. Did the games differ in anyway?

Alternative Software had a habit of changing titles as they re-released games (not sure why).
The game itself is otherwise the same.

Correct, and the author, Harry Whitehouse, was one of the very first people to grant us free distribution permission (hurrah!)

it's one of the games I pick up most often.. I have 3 to put on ebay, but haven't been bothered yet .. lemme get rid of make a chip first :D hehe

if you are in a hurry to get the game, i'll list one with a shorter time (and a slightly better price)

edit : ok I've listed one BUT due to the word catcher on ebay... it thinks the game might be dodgy "BOSS" goods.. so may take 10-20 minutes to show.. instead of a speccy game.. I had the same with "make a chip" also over time..

    it's Item number: 270551126250

    anyway

    Oh Alternative software,
    based in my home town
how I love your budget software
    cheap rubbish and re-release's
    crap soccer managers
    and spectrum classic's.

Totally off subject, but I had a look at your auction, then your feedback, and saw some loon had left 14 negative feedbacks. Obviously he's got issues, but I was wondering when eBay started to count multiple feedbacks from the same buyer as seperate?!

It used to be that, for example, if I bought 10 items and left positive feedback for them you'd only get +1 added to your score. The new way of doing it sucks, as it makes it pretty easy to wreck a sellers feedback (if you were malicious)!

As far a i recall , negs have always been counted up , i got 6 negs once for 6 seperate atari carts off one buyer as the parcel " went missing " , he got a paypal refund and left me 6 negs (that was in 2001 ish) and probably has the carts as well.

it was 14 seperate items... I'll keep the story short as I posted it before... some **** in france wanted a LOAD of games.. ran up a massive bill then expected me to wait another 8 days for payment.. alas I told him to pay up.. but as I was about to cancel he paid up at the last minute.

he kept moaning like the little bitch that he is "oh I want 1 more game" and wouldn't shut up about it. He was just REALLY arrogant and assumed i'd put up with that crud. I feel sorry for other french people who wanna bid, because of that **** I barred them all.

I found out later he was a retro-dealer.. and would have just re-sold them for *2 the price in france.. I would rather gamers got them or collectors.. but obv you sell to whoever.
