Ulises review.

edited April 2010 in Games
Here's my latest review: Ulises, released by Topo Soft in 1989.
It had possitive reviews back in the day, but I didn't find it that great at all...

Nice to see that you keep a very good rythm of reviews! ;)

I will take a look at this, since it's a game that, like you, always attracted me! but when I tried it properly you could realize that the difficulty was too high. My cousin bought it :D

and you meant by Opera Soft :P

I hate latest Opera Soft games. Stuff seemed to move in 16 pixels steps or something. Slow, clunky, extremely difficulty, unplayable, choppy...

Did I say I hate latest Opera Soft games? :P

I made a recording of this game for Rzx Archive once.

Graphics are not bad, quite a lot of colour, this means colour clash unfortunately.

Just as review says, there are many interesting ideas, rain, water, ropes.

The bad points are jerky scrolling and animation and, most of all, insane level of difficulty.

Overall an average game, better to watch than to play.

I discovered that I like making reviews even more than playing the games!
Wouldn't have been great to work for the promotional department of some software house back in the day? :-P
Hunting for nice screenshots is what i enjoy more. I even made this game look decent :-P

I remember watching at the screenshots (they were Amstrad screenshots probably) at Microman?a or some other magazine and thinking "wow this game looks cool!". So far from the truth in Spectrum this time...

I don't know about all the others, but this one looks definetly ugly, at least in the Spectrum version...
