Recording to real Tape, problem playing from pc

edited May 2010 in Emulators
Hi!
Here is what i want to do
I want to record some tapes with my cassette recorder from pc
The problem is, my sound card is playing the output from the emulator with an echo that is messing the quality of the sound
It's only with the MIDI output.
I use ZXSpin as an emulator and my sound card is VIA HD Audio

Does anybody know how to eliminate this echo?

I don't know, but do you have any sound effects from your sound card driver?

I remember some time in the past doing something where the fact that I'd set my sound effect to be "Auditorium" was messing up the output..

It's for 99% settings of your sound card. Nothing to change in emulator for sure.

In the bottom right corner of your monitor display, close to the date, there is a row of little icons. One of them is probably your soundcard.

Open it and experiment with effects and equalizer settings. You should try the default ones first as they don't change the sound.

Also, in ZXSpin, make sure the echo/reverb sound enhancement is off.

(Find it at Tools -> Options -> Sound -> Effects.)

Did you use Audacity and Windows 7? If yes only Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode) is working correct.
