What text parsing (if that's the right word) system does this game use ? I've seen it used quite a few times, I thought it was custom coded for just that game but there's quite a few games that use it (or something very similar) :-?

    I don't know that the style had a name as such, but it was used by all the Adventure International and Digital Fantasia / Channel 8 adventures in much the same form. It probably got copied by other people as well, but I think that those games were where it appeared first on the Spectrum.

    One thing that stood out for me about this style was the way the graphics changed depending on your actions.

    I don't know if publicly released software like PAW or GAC allowed you to do stuff like that.

    The location descriptors were always really short too. I suppose there wasn't too much space to add much detail on the screen, with the emphasis on the pretty pictures..

    Yes it was quite a nice system :) , that's what I wondered if it was available 'bare' as it were.

    Somehow I doubt it now I have thought about it though, or if it was would need a fair bit of assembly.
