I was out all day on Saturday and now i have totally fried! My arms, face, forehead, chest and back of my neck are the same colour as a lobster (not to mention bloody sore!). I went to a BBQ on Saturday and was out at that all day (with no protection). I am aching all over. It's my own fault....
Did anyone else fry over the weekend?

yup, I was outside without a top on draining the oil from the back end of my tractor (a really filthy job!) and didn't realise how much sun I was getting. Didn't really get much sleep last night...

I took great measures not to get burnt this weekend as I was out all day Saturday and Sunday.

Factor 25, and a big floppy hat works for me.

better to look a plum than to get burned..

I would never date a sun worshipper again (not the news paper ;) )

I have got sun burned 3 times over the years.. once when very drunk (opposite the Elle model agency in central London there was our local pub :) ) and a friends wedding , it was deceptive as it didn't actually feel warm / hot and helping a girlfriend do her garden... I say garden it was the size of about 5..

I was sitting in a park on Saturday taking note of all the hunky balding men with their shirts off and their rights of passage tattoos all hanging out, and I thought, they'll regret that in the morning.

Was out in the sun tons as i thought it wouldnt last, bit chilly today, still had a few days of beautiful weather at least

Well ok maybe big was an exaggeration, but its kinda floppy. The hat is not OTT, it stops my neck getting burnt and it works.

It's a little like this but dark red. So yes I suppose I did look like a plum.

Last year in Ibiza I saw this ginger girl going into the sea who was as white as fine bone china. I thought if she hasn't got sun block factor 1000 on she'll be a hospital case in 15 minutes...

Think you've been spending too much time with your wife, you need to get out more with the guys. That hats a 'normal' hat to wear, but when you say 'wore a floppy hat' i think we all had the vision of a huge great summery female type hat !

I burn terribly - 10 minutes is all it takes, it's no joke. It must be my Celtic genes.

I recommend strongly something called "P20". It's a bit pricey (around ?20), but it lasts ages and it's far better than those greasy creams.

It's a clear liquid, you apply it once in the morning, and then you can forget being burned for the rest of the day AND it's swim/sweat resistant.

It doesn't mess up your clothes, shirt-collars, etc. There's a similar one called "Ultrasun SPF20" that you can buy from John Lewis - it's just as good.

I don`t have to worry about getting sunburned, as I never get out of the house, except for food shopping ! But the indoor heat has been a killer !

Thats a point ! I have been looking to get a free standing cooling unit for the whole house, any advice ? Such as, are they really loud ? I have seen two different ones, one at ?39.99 the other at ?300, does any one have any experience of these ?
Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........

its already cold outside, im putting the heating on soon.

you better off with a basic fan though.

I was out doing a collection for the local Lifeboat. Normally, they have made us stand inside, but Saturday, they made us stand outside and fry in the sun. I was prepared for indoors, so i had no hat/suncream and my flece on as I get cold quick if any air-con is on (part of my kidney condition). So Saturday afternoon, 1-3pm and there's me in the blazing sun, no hat and a flece on. needless to say, my bald head is still sore

My sunburn has calmed down, it's not as painful now as i've been putting cream on it (to stop it peeling).
It's cooled down the last day or so. I guess that's summer over!

I recommend getting Banana Boat SPF50 ... seems to be the only one that works on me.

    It's clear and water/sweat resistant.

Haha that stuff does work all too well, I put some on the first time I went to Florida, but I didn't put enough on and somehow the entire right side of my torso got burnt, but had a perfect white handprint in the middle of the redness where I'd obviously applied the sunblock a little too sparingly :D

I obviously was none too pleased but the missus thought it was hilarious

Who wants to ban Anna? And who is she anyways? Racist? Nah... sexist maybe, but you brought it up.
