The Goats: Trickz of the Shade....again

    Current Track: Typical American.

I'd really forgotten how good this album was after all these years until I listened to it a few days back? I lost my copy years ago, and it took years for me to find it on the net.

Love it though, how did they just vanish?

It's political without being annoying, funny without being stupid, and hip hop enough without being "Yo bitch I gotta phat gold chain homey".

Plus Typical American is the only music video, or anything I've ever seen on a screen that gave me motion sickness. I still can't watch the whole video after all these years, makes my head spin after about 2 minutes.

they did 1 more album called 'no goats, no glory'after tricks of the shade but the main guy had left by then and did an album as 'Incognegro', which I've got, but it's not as good as the Goats stuff. some of the other guys are now in a jazz/folk band with a female singer, I found their myspace a while back but I've forgotton what they're called.

I agree Tricks.. is a great album though. the TV Cops tune is my favourite off it

..I'm currently NOT listening to Loop's : A Gilded Eternity because it's in a plastic box that's full of other CDs, in a storage yard far far away... well, in reality - the other side of the world...damn!...

I'm currently only a flying visit to the UK and have been able to pull the Loop CD [plus others] out of storage, and my laptop is going to overheating ripping them all.
I've just found a real gem - Virus 100 - Dead Kennedy Covers - the Sepultura, The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy and Napalm Death covers are just mental!

Opeth - Orchid. This takes right back to my proper gig going days as Opeth were one of those bands that seemed to support everybody for about 2 years. I must have seen them live a dozen times back then. Awesome album too!

Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse All time great, classic album :D

Not actually listening to anything at the min, but since he's a musician I thought I'd post it in this thread.

Seasick Steve is staying in the Hotel just over the road from Stansted Airport.

My wifes US mobile has no reception in London even though it does in Newcastle? But anyway she went over to the Airport to get some drinks or snacks or something, and stopped by the payphine in the hotel. She said there was a guy with a beard using the phone, and she was getting pissed off cos' he was taking ages. She said then she realised It's Seasick Steve. So she got a little closer and she said when she heard him talk it was definitely him.

funny she didn't even know who he was until a few months back when she saw the Top gear that he was on (which threw me off as to why/how he was on Top gear anyway?).

he got quite popular in england for a time, after appearing at some festivals. he did quite a few daytime chat shows. the BBC were quite into him so he appeared on all their chat shows, hence his appearence on top gear.

it might not be him she saw, london has a large hobo community. if he stank of piss it prolly wan't him. :p
