    Clique??

Well I would say that WOSF is one of the web's least cliquey forums.

Better WOS than being called a noob or asked to FTFM or other attempts to make you feel inadiquate every time you ask a question.

You should read some of the dross that is out there on other forums. Somtimes the biassed and clueless fan boy posting style on some forums makes me want to travel though the web and give them a good slap and often its the moderators too. Especially when someone askes an intelegent question ends up getting insulted then has to watch a pissing match between the posters who will not give a straight and simple answer and a good question.

I was on a forum the other day and this kid had said that a reletive (who worked for intel) had given him a unlocked quad core industrial sample. All he wanted to know was, will it work in a standard socket 775 quad core motherboard. Instead, he got called a liar, fraud and a cheat that the model number he quoted didn't exist. He then got subjected to a horrible torrent of abuse. He was then labled a troll by the forums members. He was also told in anycase owning such a thing was illegal (jellousy probably) and that he should turn himself into Intel. The funny thing is the processor this kid was describing was exactly the same (model number and all) as a quad core industrial sample I had received that week. I was also looking for answers to the question he posed. Poor lad.

Like drivers shouting at learner drivers. Just because they learnt first......

Wow ! Over 10 years of coming here, and I just find out theres a "clique" !!

As it happens I dont see any "problems with this forum" at all. I think someone is imagining things.

I would say that WoS is one of the less 'clique' forums.
I was a member a few years ago of a music forum and it was full of little 'cliques'. Because i wasn't in their group most of my posts were ignored. I eventually just left. This is a better forum!

Everyone calm down before Mr Kendall arrives muttering about the signal to noise ratio... :p

I've never felt there was a clique on WoS. I don't recall new members posting questions and being hounded off the forums, they normally get a welcome and answers / links / help / suggestions.

I`m on a ladder at the moment so everyone is below me !

Cliques and gangs on here, well I must have my eyes shut or something, I could not put a clique list togeather at all. Apart from that snotty yuk or whatever he is called, he is the only one in his gang, and that Zxnor Soup bloke, or Fag possibly, the list is beginning less. Seriously, I have been irritated to the max by some people here, and made to really laugh by some of the Frobusshyness on here. We have to remember that we all share the same father, Sir Clive Sinclair, like all families, we are bound to fall out now and again.

Like the time i offered a few of boxes of duplicate games for free to a member ( who shall remain nameless ), as I wanted the space. Instead of being greatful, they wanted to know how big the boxes were. Well they were 45ltr boxes and the boxes cost ?20 alone, let alone 180ltrs of games, that would have raised a bit from E-Bay sales. Still I suppose if I had offered to pay for the petrol as well, he would have " taken them off my hands " as they say.

There are all sorts of people in the world, and on here, if you don`t like someone, just avoid getting into conversation with them in front of others.
Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........

I think by law though when a noob does turn up to tell us about heyhey16k we are allowed to have a slight joke at their expense ;)

I do like helping newbies with games and suggestions. I remember the first time i got back into the Speccy in the mid/late 90's when i discovered an emulator, going through all those old games was like seeing an old friend again after all these years.

Jealous in a way as it would be good to rekindle that moment again.

It is even funnier than I remembered it, I have checked my mail and I actually offered them all 8 of my duplicate boxes, thats ?40 worth of 45ltr storage boxes and 360ltr of games, for free, just to make the storage cheaper. I still have the photos somewhere !

I can safely say it wasn't me.. :) besides prolly wasn't enough dups of scrabble in the box for me ;)

I've travelled a fair bit to pick up speccy bits.. only recently I picked up 150 games from the other side of London using public transport (as I didn't wanna leave my car in that area) .. lets just say lugging hhm 40-50kg of games and a +3 wasn't loads of fun :) but I wouldn't have got a +3 that cheap otherwise (it needs a bit of work on it though)

but if people offer me games, I normally pick em up .. someone off here did and it wasn't loads of games. If it's something I want.. then it's no prob and gets me out :)

beanz there are at least 2 c64 programmers here... Mr Hat and TMR :) . there is a c64 site I go, but it's not lemon .

Amongst me and my mates from that day loud fat annoying spastic types were forever known as RFM's :D

Guess you have to be in me and my "homies" "clique" to get the full effecty fectiness :p
