Czech/Slovakian games update

edited August 2004 in MIA/STP/SDP
I would like to know when (if ever) games, which I sent via upload form in June and July, will be added into the WoS database and who is responsible for adding non-english games, because today's update was assumed from TZX Vault, which involves English titles only.

I still believe that I didn't send them uselessly, unfortunately it wouldn't be for the first time :(.

Here is the list of those games:
Aven
Koky
Mluvici balik
Silvestrovka pecka
Tinny
Vesele velikonoce
Pedro V Strasidelnom Zamku
Pedro V Krajine Pyramid
Maglaxians
Boovie 2
Peloponeska valka

Otherwise I can answer all questions and supply missing information about those games, if it would be the reason why they weren't inserted to the database.

Are all these games in TZX format? If so, could you please send me Aven, Koky and Peloponeska Valka through my e-mail address in order to replace the respective TAP files in my personal collection? Thanks in advance.

They're not .tzx files, but TAp files.

I thought everyone knew by now that the .tzx vault deals specifically with .tzx files that have authentic pauses and are as accurate as possible to the original tapes...

This also means that when required, redumps are done to improve the quality of the dumps.

Games submitted to WOS that are either in .Z80 / .TAP or beautified .TZX files will NOT get picked up by the .tzx vault team...

    Sorry.

It'll have to be a non-tzx update that will resolve the backlog.

I'd also like to add that I sympathise, but I've enough on my plate with .tzx only updates.

    Steve

We need volunteers from respective countries to handle non-UK releases. SPA2 handles Spanish releases and is merged frequently with WoS as is the Vault. We (the preservation team) mainly deal with UK releases as that's where we are from and have the most knowledge about.

It's hard to sort out Czech and Slovak countries etc as we can't read the language (regrettably) or know what was original (commercial) or not. I know Tomaz has some pages of these.

Basically we need more people to help sort non-UK submissions.

Once more, I also sympathise with non-TZX updates, but I have no idea when they will be processed, we have many files by Boitoxin to be added too (many thanks). Hopefully Martijn can sort them sometime this year.

Like Steve said, we have so many projects and so little spare time, it's hard to keep up with the 'other' projects.

Please bear with us, we've not forgotten and these will be added as soon as we humanely can.

If good quality TZXs are submitted they usually get included in the updates if we can authenticate them.. Once more lack of knowledge on our part for non-UK releases ;-o.

    Many thanks

    Andy
