Thats a slush puppy, but blue cars are the wrong colour, they should also taste of salt and vinegar, or hamburger vans should taste of dvds, Mel and Mile`s on the other hand are a different matter indeed. Do you want onions with that porno dvd ? you wont need mustard as it is HOT enough. Oh sorry did I go off topic ?, I forgot it was the crisp thread.

Wasn't there a comedy or something where they were doing the same thing? Might have been Peter Kay...not sure...but I'm certain I've seen something like this on telly...

That Peter Kay Thing, very funny series of six "mockumentaries", including The Club which set the scene for Phoenix Nights. They are all based on places Peter worked or people he knew in Bolton.

apparently green was historically the correct colour, its everyone else that adopted blue for some reason.

Oh, sure... I bet that comes from the same marketing people who claim that Wagon Wheels have never shrunk. Do they really expect us to believe that we all woke up one day with a made-up childhood memory that we all got wrong in exactly the same detail?

George Orwell predicted all of this 60 years ago... "Chocolate rations have been increased to 25 grams". FIGHT THE SYSTEM!

Maybe the wagon wheels have shrunk, but the packets have stayed the same.

I always wonder with those 10% extra free offers if your getting 10% extra product, or 10% extra packet.

no. your hands and gob have just got bigger. but yes it is odd that it all seems to have affected us. it's kinda like we have all grown bigger since we were kids. conspiracy, probably.

So why does this *only* apply to Wagon Wheels then? Why does no-one complain that Penguin biscuits are smaller than they used to be? Why would the size of a Wagon Wheel ever have become lodged in our childhood memories as a notable distinguishing feature, if they were the same size as a digestive biscuit all along? Eh? Eh?

Everything is getting smaller I have proof, the funny thing is though here they've made things slightly smaller so they can keep the prices the same. But with the legal requirements for labelling here in the US they have to put the new weight on the container. One prime Example is Classico Pesto it's lost 1oz, it's now 13oz I think but there's still some 14oz jars at the back of the shelf. Swanson canned chicken claims to be the same weight, but the can is about 1/3rd smaller than it used to be the bigger cans are still on the shelf along with the newer smaller cans. Even Niblets corn is smaller, but claims to contain the same amount of corn as the older can, it feels a lot lighter though?

Several things are getting smaller here.

Erm! I would argue but with the sheer amount of crap I've been eating with the missus not being here to cook stuff you're probably right. The novelty of cooking things for myself has kind of worn thin and I seem to be resorting to pies, and TV dinners now

I've also been eating an unhealthy amount of ice cream recently, and I don't even like ice cream that much? :D

And should the UK ever join the Euro, you can bet manufacturers will use the alteration in value to their benefit...

Jack Daniels claim they've made it the same way for all time. which is a lie. The first thing that happened when a corporation took it over was make it a lot weaker, from something like 43% to 37% so that they paid less tax.

    (don't panic, I haven't :) )
