So tell me if I am wrong, but do teams not sue players for deliberate injury to their players ? After all they have a lot of money tied up in them and if a player is unfit to play because of deliberate injury, why does the attacker not have to pay their salary for every day lost from the game ?
This sort of attack would be treated as physical assault in the street, but in the workplace of a footballer, it seems to go unpunished. When a player deliberatly slides into another player, sending him flying, this surely can`t be seen as a legitimate tackle if they don`t even have possession of the ball.
Perhaps I am just a football party pooper !

it does rather spoil the atmosphere for me, for all games that I watch.
