Loaded up Pud Pud earlier and played it for a while. Never played it before so I had no idea what I was supposed to do in it but it was fun.
Pud Pud is great, it's a brilliant old-fashioned arcade game. The trick is to learn the beasties which are good for Pud Pud and eat them so that he keeps his energy up so he can explore the maze and find the puddings. I think my record is about five puddings or something. It's also very, very Jof.
I've just got back from work to read this sad news. I think I should write a tribute to Joffa in Micro Mart, so if people don't mind I'll use some of the comments here.

Rest in peace Mr Smiff :(
Thats really good of you - I look forward to reading your tribute.
For those who are interested (and may have missed it), the interview I wrote with Joffa for Micro Mart is here. I remember the interview well as Joffa wasn't exactly the easiest person to get hold of and his answers were rather short. Somehow, I made a page out of it. It was written around the time that Joff's last Speccy production Saucer was still in the works with a likely outlet being Cronosoft.
Sitting here trying to think of what to say, got the news an hour ago and had a cry. Not ashamed of admitting I cried. I'm truly heartbroken...
Been reading some of the mails I had with him. He was the finest bloke I knew who made me laugh when I wanted to cry. Joffa was an inspiration to me.
It would be nice to know where to send flowers for his funeral. Please Mr Hat, can you let me/us know where to send flowers?
I know he wouldn't want us to be too sad. Better to try and celebrate his life than mourn his death, but I have to goto the pub now and let it sink in, before I can think how to celebrate his life.
I want to pay a tribute. I'll write some music/lyrics and play/sing it live and post it on my Youtube channel. I never sing, but I'll make an exception this one time, and hopefully it will be a fitting tribute.
I have no idea if he shared this with anybody else on here but I figured if I'm the only one he did share it with it'd be a shame to not let everyone else hear it, he was obviously quite talented as a DJ as well as a programmer, and a guy who could point a camera at things.
I hope you all enjoy this, I did, and like I say I don't even like house music, but the style of it took me back to the late 80's early 90's when House was young and not something divvies listened to in Supermarket doorways on a friday night with it blasting from their friends car parked 10 feet away.

Very very very sad to hear this, had a fair few PM's off him.
RIP
Reallly sad to hear this, sad sad moment. I'll be happy to send some money via Paypal to put towards some flowers. Was in awe of him when i saw him at Byte-back.
I did write a rather lenghthy post which was lost in the ether, but it was meant for him anyway, so perhaps he recieved it.
Basicly what I said was, if there is a heaven, you will be there warming a seat for the next of us to follow. I also, as DM said, recieved regular musical clips from Jonathan, even though he knew that I too didn`t enjoy that type of music. I still listened to them as a sign of respect for him, that is his greatest legacy, that people would listen to him, regardless.
Just now I walked past my many boxes of duplicate games and a copy of Green Beret caught my eye, I have passed it many time in the past few months and not really noticed, today it made me cry again, pathetic, no, as a reminder of a friend lost. This is a bad day, not only for us, but for his family as well.
Thank you Jonathan for the many encouraging words which you have given me over the years, my work was a million times removed from yours, yet you could still praise me for it.
Bless you my friend, Heaven is now a much better place, because you are there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........
Grey Key I'm glad you've stayed if only for the reason of Jof's sad passing, but there's no shame in crying, my eyes well up everytime I read a post on this thread.
I never met the guy face to face, but I still feel like I've lost a really good friend, and that's what kinda makes it hard. I never met Jof in person, but I always thought maybe I would one day at one of these events that he didn't like but I always thought if I made it home to England and I went to one of them maybe that would be the one he decided to go to.
It's confusing for me though how do you let go of one of your childhood idols, who thanks to the internet later became a friend in your adulthood? I never met him in person so he was just text on a screeen, but that's not how it feels at all?
Truly terrible news!:( He was my favourite poster on here. His sense of humour was the best. He even replied to some of the crap I post. Damn, he should not have gone for many years. Very sad.
Joff, you were a dude and a gent!!
I never posted to this thread but read it and always looked to see any updates on his condition, he was not far from my thoughts wishing him a full recovery, so to see the thread just now and find out this news is very saddening. I never really spoke to him barring replying to a compliment he posted about one of mixes yonks ago and I believe I'm poorer for only having that correspondence, his posts were always entertaining to read and I came to believe that he was a very genuine and sincere person from reading them.
My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends, I pray for Joffa and everyone at this time of sadness, may God have mercy and grant him peace.
If anyone has got anymore of Jof's house music I'd like to have it.
links, pm's or mails I don't mind
I love house music and have a collection starting from the House Sound of Chicago and ends with the rave era of the early 90's, I never shared this with him and I feel I've really missed out on this aspect of him.

Yep, I know what you mean too. He was a childhood hero of mine one minute, and then I'm exchanging banter about mutated sheep dogs with the him the next. He was always up for hearing tunes I'd made, always gave me supportive feedback. Once I mentioned something about only being able to make music when I'm feeling depressed (I think I'd just split up with my GF or something) after I'd just upped a tune to YouTube, and he came back with a jokey dig to cheer me up. He was a genuinely top bloke, I'm gonna miss him loads. :(
Just played Pud Pud for the first time ever. It was very sad to see the "Joff says RIP" tombstones.
I have to take air, it's so sad, one of my heroes, Joffa... i can not believe it... i will try to smile remembering the great person that he was... Descansa amigo m?o!!!

EDIT: And his name written in mirror letters ;)

I thought it could have "Game Under".

Out of curiousity I checked the link, it's inactive, does anybody want me to re-up it so you can hear it?
He was talented I quite liked it and it's house music, and I don't like house music.
If so I'll re-up it after the footy if anybody wants me to?
Yes please.

I didn't know him well, but he did e-mail me a few kind words about my adventures, especially Missing: World of Spectrum..
Very very very sad to hear this, had a fair few PM's off him.
