I have a 32" widescreen Philips Matchline CRT and its more than good enough for watching anything on. Though it weighs as much as a small piano.

did you have to push it down the street like you did with your piano? :p

(whether these are worth the money instead of a bog standard 21" telly is of course debatable!). Watching normal standard def content on these screens really does show up the difference. This is the reason I always assumed those big flatscreen tellies were crap.

I love my 42 inch screen ! But yeah the larger the screen it really cries out for hi-def.

As for a 'bog standard 21" telly' i'm sure years before people were stunned when someone wanted to upgrade from a 14" (no jokes Miles) to a 21.

Just wish i had room for a 50 incher (miles no, stop it, resist)

well all this diagonal distance across the visible picture area is a silly way to measure it anyway... the proper way to measure a telly is in disc diameter... ;)

I think you mean chimps... they don't take kindly to being called monkeys... (though they don't go quite as "ape" as an Orangutan does...)

My house had a 62" on the wall when we moved in. Landlord said if we pay ?750 its ours, or we can spread it over the first years rent. I (well the wife) declined.
TBH, it would be too big for me and I would have always worried about someone seeing it though your window and later breaking in to get at it.

?750 sounds a half decent price. But its great seeing the way prices are coming down all the time for tv's.

I couldnt get a bigger tv than 42 otherwise my eyes would get frazzled, the second i move and we have a bigger lounge then the huge tv will follow !
