Victory Road - Rotational Joystick Control?
I've been playing Ikari Warriors recently, and noted how the home conversions suffered slightly because they couldn't replicate the original's 8-way rotational joysticks.
Then, I was playing Victory Road on the Spec and noticed one of the control options is "Rotational Joystick". Curious, I fired it up on the CPC and the same option is there, listed as "Cheetah Rotational Joystick".
So did Cheetah actually develop such a stick? Can't say I remember seeing one.

It also had a redefinable fire button that could replace a key, one of the few games to use it was Flying Shark (for the smart bomb)
Victory Road is a funny game, Ikari Warriors is a great game, they used the same engine (a lot of the same graphics) so Victory Road should surely be Ikari Warriors II, extra levels and enemies, what could go wrong ?
Dont know about you but i just couldnt get into it, still play it now from time to time but doesnt have the same magic as Ikari and i quickly get bored of it. Shame that Victory Road was pretty dull
as well you control the tank AND the directional SNK stick controlled the turret
it was like the first use of Strafe in a game I guess :D hehe
I agree. The sequel is pretty dull and samey. I've no idea why they turned it all sci-fi. And they got rid of the tanks you could razz around in!
