In need of a Poke (ooer!)
Back in my very basic Basic days, machine code was a scary thing. I think I advanced as far as 'LD HA' (or something!) before giving up.
However, something that did make me feel more powerful was being able to enter into my basic programs simple one-off Pokes that did something or other to a game.
At the ripe old age of 33 I can only remember a couple:
23659,0 which caused a speccy to crash when someone tried to break into the loading
23658,255 which enforced caps mode.
I saw one in the 'type-in' section that caused the text to scroll. Wish i knew that back then.
Anyone else know of any one-liners that did nifty things to your speccy?
Tobo.

or something a bit like that
so NEW or CLEAR wouldn't clear the UDG unless
the plug was pulled.
That probably sounds like gobbeldeygook, but I think I know what I mean.
and another one, which I've now forgotten completely, that let me put a line starting with 0 in a listing.

is another way of saying it. :D
Apart from the obvious (and hilarious) Fallout-50's newsreel influence, I think this is a valuable guide for all those who have never been attending a forum but now wish to do so.
