Apart from comedy horrors, there hasn't been a good proper horror film made in yonks. Even the last Romero film was a bit pap...

Totally agree, i love horror films but doesnt seem to have been one for ages. Given up on the Romero films, the next to last film he did i found terrible (The one where theyre all living in this city with huge great walls to keep out the zombies and one of the 'humans' is a bit 'slow'). Terrible.

Still thought the Strangers was a great film

Blair Witch Project has got to be a first for having a joint Cinema and high-street release. Hmm, now do I pay ?5.00 and see it on at the Picturedrome, or pay my 9.99 for a VHS of it?
Tough luck to all those who wasted that extra ?4.99!

Yus, me finks that the film was crappio (as was Paranormal activity) but at least the DVD of Blair has the making of. Now that's suprisingly excellent!!!

Has Blair Witch II ever been on telly?!

Are you sure they were released at the same time ? Sure they were different?

With Blair Witch i think it would have been wiser to spend 5 pounds and watch it at the cinema on the huge screen which would make it far more tense/scarier than to buy it on vhs. To me Blair witch is a film i would watch once and never again. Think its a waste to buy it and then it just gathers dust on the shelf and then in the future you cant even sell the tape for 99p !

Granted on vhs it was 9.99 but i cant believe you watched it several times.

No, I'm fairly confident it came out in cinemas around July (I'm sure I saw it around my birthday), and it came out on VHS and DVD in December.

Yup, they were released at the same time down here. The very day it came out, WHSmith put the cassettes on the shelves - which got quite a few people talking about it. I watched the film twice, just to make sure I didn't like it - but I neither went to the cinema, nor bought it... I waited till it was on telly! :D

My wife then bought the DVD which is well worth it just for the more realistic, "making-of" which features betters actors and storyline. Very good indeed.

I must've just imagined it then...

EDIT: According to IMDB and Crapipedia, it was released in cinemas on the 22nd of October, and on VHS on the 30th of November. So I did definately just imagine seeing it around my birthday.

That's interesting... Maybe our branch of WHSmith just wanted shot of them sooner? Don't blame 'em! :D

No! We offered him some extra cash to pocket if he'd let a copy slide under the counter so to speak. He said he'd lose his job, and the shop could potentially be closed down by Segas lawyers for leaking the game before the release date.

I say we didn't threaten him but after several minutes of "howay mate, just slip the game in a bag when the shop's a little emptier nee one'll see" and "here's an extra tenner put it in yer poke and hand the game over", we certainly made the guy very uncomfortable.

Just been on the BBC's homepage and they've got a link to Top Gear's Ayrton Senna segment on the iPlayer. Just watched that bit again.

Can't wait for the docu-film about him, I just hope we get it at the cinemas up here. It'll be amazing watching the racing on the big screen!
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Just watched Vanilla Sky, i can't see why it was voted the most confusing film of all time, i managed to understand the story (i think!). It's certain;y not as confusing as something like Lost Highway or Eraserhead both of which are just totally bonkers.

Any one watching that documentary on Channel 4 about the Amish teenagers being confronted with their western counterparts? Brilliant tv! and my gosh, that tall blonde Amish girl is a bit of alright, she'd blush if I got hold of her and no mistake.

Yep thats very interesting that series, glad its not just a one off. In some ways i'm jealous of their lifestyle as they do seem very happy, think (just like when they do these wife swap programs) i think compromise is best. Not saying we have the perfect life but on the other hand theres lessons to be learned from the Amish (and vica versa)

They do seem incredibly happy with nothing which is either a spot-on way to live your life or child abuse having been kept in ignorance. I must say I'm tempted to join them if they dropped the religious stuff, not sure about the beard either.

    Watched 'Rec 2' last night.

Thought it was very good, quite a few parts reminded me of playing Doom III, very atmospheric film.

Carried on where the original left of. All subtitles as its spanish but a very good film and great sequel

    Watched Zombieland last night.

Completely awful, outclassed on every level by Shaun of the Dead.

Hated the script (mostly) but the acting was wooden and the whole film was like waiting 90 minutes for a custom made hamburger only to be delivered a burger without any meat whatsoever (if vegetarian choose your own analogy).

On the other hand, watched and loved Harry Brown recently.

I thought Zombieland was good, because it was stupid.

    Anyway...

Just watched The Losers, I thought it was pretty good, had quite a few funny bits in it as well. Kind of like a feelgood movie, but with guns, explosions, and violence :D

I watched a film last night called 'The legend of the seven golden vampires. A cheesy mix of seventies kung fu and horror made in china (i think). As it was a Hammer film i was disappointed Christopher Lee wasn't playing Dracula, it was some guy i'd never heard of before and he wasn't very good but it did have Peter Cushing in it, it was quite good, despite it being probably one of the last films Hammer made.

I really liked Zombieland! Thought it was pretty funny....

I've been watching Friday the 13th - The Series on Youtube, and Supernatural - Season 1 on DVD......

Quite surprising how similar the two of them are really....:D
