name of game? flying horse

edited July 2010 in Games
Hi,

I was sure that the game I was after was Sir Lancelot, but it is not. I'd never played Sir Lancelot before and am really enjoying it.

But the game I was after involved a flying horse and I think you fought other flying horses with your lance. I think it was basically a platform game with multiple levels.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

cartz.

Its a case of finding the cartz before the horse:smile:

The game you are describing is the arcade coin-op game Joust. There are a few clones of Joust for the Spectrum, the most likely from your horses description being Winged Warlords

Another Joust clone in the archive is Lancer Lords which I don't think will be your game but does sound more like Sir Lancelot to the memory.

Beaky and the Eggsnatchers is a good variation on Joust that you may enjoy.

I think Jumping Stack's fits more with the description, but the first game with "flying horses" (in fact, centaurs this time) that came to mind was this one http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0003356

Awesome, thanks Jumping Stack. I think it possibly is Winged Warlords although the name doesn't ring a bell. I'm giving it a spin anyway :)

Thanks na_th_an. But that was after my time really. It would have been a game 1986 or earlier.

    In addition to the aforementioned:
    -- Winged Warlords (CDS)
    there's also these similar games:
    -- Joust / Ostron (Softek)
    -- Lancer Lords (Rabbit)
    -- Warlords (Century)

    PS.
In fact, most of the others were aforementioned as well - I should have read further up the page more carefully, but there was all those words befuddling me. Sorry.
