Sorry, back up a minute, 'poly- bi- carbonate'? How does that work?

Jigger bolts turned at 45 degree angles. ;)

Every couple of hours, I try this mobile and it works differently every time. Sometimes the buttons work to an extent, sometimes they don't. Crucially, the main select button doesn't work, so I can't get into new messages!!

I took my old mobile swimming about a year ago. I switched it off, took out the battery, SIM card and left it all to dry in the sun (luckily I was in Spain). It worked fine for about 6 months, and then, for seemingly no reason, the screen failed. I suspect it is as a result of its swimming lesson.

My son did exactly the same thing with his mobile phone. I just pulled it straight out of the toilet, dismantled it as much as possible and left it in the airing cupboard for a couple of days.
When I reassembled it the phone work fine except for the ringtone which sounded weird but after a couple of months that went back to normal.

Thats was 3 years ago and he still uses it now.
I wanna tell you a story 'bout a woman I know...

How many times does it have to be said, wait till it dries out before turning it on.

Well it should be dry by now- I've opened the mother up and I can't see any water there.

Luckily I hadn't peed on it at the time. I pulled the phone quickly back out, but many of the buttons aren't working. It's been two or three hours since it happened. Is it possible that it will eventually start working again, or do you think it's buggered for good?

can mobile phones not be waterproof.
like having plastic over the whole phone real thinplastic so no moisture can get in.

well i dropped my t v box into the sink full of water and it is now working near perfect.

so in time it might work better, but maybe never as good as it did before this happened mate.

Here's the AM update. I switched it on and after a few seconds of inactivity, nearly all the buttons are working. In fact there's only one button for sure that isn't, and that's the select button - the most important one!! I can reach most of the options, but I cant select them. All the number keys work, but the bloody select doesn't! I'm so close to success, just a little more time...

Someone I know dropped a camera down the toilet. They hadn't flushed, but asked me to get it working again.

After a few moments of taking it apart they said, "I didn't rinse it under the tap afterwards because I didn't want to get it wetter than it was." Ugh!

Bluegh ! Even worse if it had poo on it :-D

You had to flush it and there would be calm (or another thread).

It'll work as expected. Just keep talking crap.

It works! I tried it a few hours ago and after a couple of minutes, the buttons all came to life. It's been going fine since. Just think about that - immersed in a toilet so deep I had to stick my hand into the bend to pull it out, and it works fine after 24 hours or so. No doubt it'll suddenly fail without warning in a couple of weeks, but for now, I'm pleased that I got away with it. Phew! :)
