From the looks of things Normski that is what most normal people call gravy, sod what the yanks say they wouldn't know gravy if it jumped up and bit their cock off :D

I know! Gravy over here is something completely different altogether!

The only decent brown gravy I've found hereabouts is out in IKEA, it's not bad really.

Back to basics for me and what an eye opener of simple delights! posh Cornish ice cream with chilled tin peaches.... in a light syrup. Beautiful on a muggy summers evening.

Looks a bit of a mess there in the pan but it was probably tasty, right..?

Nice vodka to coke ratio, looks about 60:40 at the moment and probably getting higher as you drink it.. :D

I find Smirnoff can be a bit expensive at full price but I usually nab a bottle or two when it goes on offer at the supermarket.

Two more "culinary" "delights" for you all. First last night's dinner:

    PotatoesnChicken.jpg

That'll be fried potato & red onion mess thingy, baked beans, fake chicken quorn fillets (shush, they're really cheap and not too bad) with a bit of cajun seasoning, bit of coleslaw and a blob of brown sauce.

    And this evening I made:

    SpaghettinSauce.jpg

Tomato and salami sauce (made with proper tomatoes chopped up and reduced down, bit of olive oil, bit of salt, bit of sugar, some pepper, some chilli powder, clove of garlic, three slices of salami sliced up) on top of lots of spaghetti and all given a light "shake" of more pepper and some dried basil. Penne is my favourite pasta but spaghetti comes a close second.

    They were both lovely jubbly.

    I'm drinking beer now. :D

Zagreb you should try cutting up some smoked bacon and mixing it in with your fried onions and tatties, it's a yank thing they eat it for brekkie. My missus makes it for me sometimes, splendid with a piece of fried bread, some beans, and a couple of Squasages on the side.

I've just eaten steak pie, chips, and peas n' corn mixed together, with lots of broon sass on the chips......ace! :D

Washed down with JD and Coke (fancied a change from beer today).

just asked the missus she says yup it's like Home Fries, but she says usually they put seasoning salt on home fries, and sometimes Home fries are deep fried instead of shallow fried.

Yeah no eggs in these just chopped up smoked bacon, potato, and onion, and plenty salt n' pepper whilst they're cooking.

Not bad. Those beans look a funny colour, they're definitely not Heinz are they..? Are they the basics ones that you can get for about 10p a tin?

Looks OK, but is it just me or is that a bit of a small portion? Could do with a side order of pizza or something.

i was gonna say that, i usually do half a pack of spaghetti. it seems a waste to only cook a small portion, like when they do the cooking shows on the TV, and they only put one scoop on the plate.

I usually cook up batches, I've never seen the point in preparing a meal from scratch for 1, so I never did. But if I make curry I'll cook up enough of the stuff to feed me at least twice, same with Pasta sauce, or chilli.

It's what my freezer was made for :D

Yup, added some crushed lemon pepper to it and plopped it on buttered bread ... it was tasty.

See vegiarians can eat crap too. This delight came from the canteen at work. As the students are not there they have more food than they can sell, so if you go at the right time you always get a greedy basterd sized portion.

Beans, cheese and onion pasty, brown sauce and rost potatoes and maybe a smidgen of gravy over the roasties.

I'm eating home made chicken and barley soup, it's tasty.

I had Albondigas last night with some kind of Spanish style potato dish, but I can't remember what it's called? It was awesome, and all washed down with some Sangria. I took a pic but haven't had time to upload it yet.
