Quentin Crisp
I wouldn't of if it wasn't for the Hurricane Higgins is dead thread.
EDIT: Defeated him on my second go, I knew he wouldn't get it, and he didn't. So I introduced the new character to him, but I won't do that again.
Can't go making it easier for it to win :D
(I wonder if it knows Jonathan Cauldwell?)
Yeah, it gave me Sid James first, then Peter Sellers. It got mine right on the 3rd attempt.
quite good.
clive sinclair - got peter molyneux, bill gates, steve jobs. it must have forgotton i said he was english or something.
It also guessed Winona Ryder & Chloe Moretz in under 20 guesses.
Now I'll see what obscure person I can come up with to defeat it. :)
Edit: It gave up when trying to guess Bruce Greenwood. It already knew him but I think I threw it off by answering that he's not American. He's Canadian. HAH, take that impressive genie. :D
My games for the Spectrum: Dingo, The Speccies, The Speccies 2, Vallation, SQIJ.
Twitter: Sokurah
The first time it chose Bill Oddie which is not far off the mark.
The second time it chose Michael Parkinson.
first time I thought of Kate Beckinsale and it gave me Rhona Mitra!
other times it was spot on!
first guesses were Terry Pratchett and Ian McEwan, getting close, but the last guess, God, was a bit off.
I still think it's pretty good considering...gets most of the ones I tried in under 20
It got DB Cooper, and it got Ken Barlow from coronation street in 20 but I swear from the questions it asked, I could've been thinking of any male soap star over 50
strange I tried clive sinclair yesterday and it got it almost straight away
just tried Olivia Newton John and it gave me Madonna
at last it got one, Chewbacca
miner willy - 20 questions
dizzy - 16 questions
Funny when I thought of Mile it came up with Peter Sutcliffe, must be a Yorkshire thing?
100 marks for originality there. :p
honestly i was gonna do sutcliffe instead of fred west, but it'd spoil your joke. ;)
I was thinking of Katy Perry.
Mile was thinking of Boozy
and boozy was thinking of mile.
....and the computer thing picked Graham Norton in the miles/boozy mix...
and no one was thinking of you, how sad. :p
I thought I'd be Mr. Nice guy and see if it could guess Beanz, alas 56 questions and all he could come up with was Wayne Sleep :D
not the greatest claim to fame ever tbh
this thing just guessed 'Finchy' from The Office in 20! it's good.
It knew with about 95% that you meant Jesus.
But it had a lot of spare questions that it could use up for other purposes.
There is some 5% that you meant son of some Greek god in mythology or maybe Elvis? :)
And I think that the alghoritm works these way:
If program knows almost for sure that you mean Jesus it stops guessing and uses the questions to make its database more complete
It has thousands of questions like
* is your character from Japanese manga?
* is your character wearing a wig?
* is your character a good fighter?
If it never asks if Jesus was a fighter, it will never know it. And there is always some possibility that some yet untested question will better identify Jesus than "son of god" one.
