I'd forgot name the pictures for each of us, I'd been busy getting the interview together for RG and preparing for a my interview for my new job in the Environmental Crime Unit that it never crossed my mind.

Do WH Smiths a favour and buy something while you're there. A packet of Rolos perhaps. :)

    Rolos

hmm haven't had them in ages, I can feel my waistline expanding at the thought!!

They never print quotes from me anyway.
Too intellectual for the likes of them, it must be.

Just shown it to the wife and like me she saw the funny side

87% not bad for a simple blaster which was written using AGD

Shaun: never caught the review in micro mart how did it fare?

Dont think it'll be out yet, subscribers have got their copy today. Went into WH Smiths this lunchtime and it still has the old one.

Binman - Nice to see the review and interview, shame about the picture of the wrong person ! Good score of 87%, now finish the original Trooper ! ;)

Hit a couple of bugs again with it that narked me (my own fault for deleting stuff, I really should take notice of my own tips when using AGD)so I'm concentrating on Ghost Castle 2 graphics so CodenameV can get on with some programming, I'm slowing the process down.

Typical RG. A feature on the Atari 5200 and a D.I.D. with the guy who made Defender.

I still subscribe but features like that make me wonder if RG has anything left to offer.

Just got mine. It's all SNES/Megadrive. After a great issue last time, this one's about as interesting as a copy of Games Master from the 90s.

Well you get the odd month like that, i'm a subscriber, would love more Speccy but i know it cant always be like that. Just have to hang on in there, might be a more '90's' feel one month but then a month later get some great Speccy stuff

Have they done anything about spectrum clones yet? It'd be nice to see some stufff about hardware like the DivIDE and stuff like that. Also have they ever been in contact with Andrew about the work he's done with the ROMs? Garry with Residos? Chris's ULA? Winstons Spectranet? Gasmans demos? What about Dunny, Marko, Karingal and Woody on emulators? All these things that have kept us interested all these years and helped to keep the speccy alive and not just for it's games.

And not just for the speccy I like to read about how machines were put together and why. I know they don't like to go to techie in the mags, but they can only skim the surface for so long surely?

I dont know about all that, must admit i'm 100% games so the hardware stuff doesnt interest me so much.

RG are making a push in the US so theres a fair few features which will interest US readers.

Yeah this month was a poor one Speccy wise but theres been a lot of good stuff recently, eg a look at the ZX80 and its games, some other Speccy game features etc.

I'm happy buying it every month, wouldnt want it to go under.

The Desert Island Disks is with Larry DeMar, who doesn't get interviewed as often as Eugene - it's nice to get a different perspective on it. Plus there's stuff on a previously unseen game that Larry designed. So there's a lot of merit in that piece. And Martin Goldberg's piece on the Atari 5200 is the authoritative insider's view. Yes, the machine has been featured before... 57 ISSUES AGO.

Are you talking about issue 80, Joe? What about all the arcade features, the history of Excitebike

I have to say, the last few months RG has been doing a very good job of varying the content.

There's a nice article for all us Speccy boys next month - the history of Micromega.

While I remain a contributor, you can count on me banging the Speccy drum when and wherever possible :)

I'm a digital subscriber, and am still waiting for issue 80 to hit my virtual newsstand. *grumble*

Sadly not. But I've interviewed the two chaps who ran the company, and they offer some fascinating insight about him and his character.

Thanks, but it's not just the Speccy. Clearly the editor loved his CPC then had a console. Reading the magazine from month to month you get the impression that you must have imagined the entire ST/Amiga scene in the 90s.

I must admit, as much as I enjoy RG, that this has crossed my mind too.

As someone who went from Speccy/C64 to Atari ST then Amiga, a lot of the console stuff passes me by (my first console was a PS1).
