Hah! You better be hoping the 360 gets one now that Sony have given Valve licence to bring Steamworks to PS3. Next to no chance of MS doing the same.

no big loss, those games are always pretty low standard due to the fact they are built for PC gamers in mind. i prefer my AAA titles that are built for the 360, proper high def and playability.

Eh? I don't know what Steamworks is (something to do with Steam, I assume?), but Portal 2 will be coming out on the 360 too.

i dont understand either, i did a search on wikipedia for steamworks, but it came up with a gay sauna. maybe vampyre is thinking of something else.

@ whizzbang - MS is not a joking matter. :-P

It was a pathetic attempt to wind-up the xbox fanboy ;-)

Basically it is the Steam platform coming to the PS3 with all of the juicy freebies and deals that Valve offer quite regularly. MS will never allow it, they want full control, all the readies, etc.

    Steamworks : http://www.steampowered.com/steamworks/

Well yeah... funnily enough, the whole game is a puzzle game about portals. The same way GTA is an action game about nicking cars. The same way Carrier Command is a strategy game about aircraft carriers. :p ;)

Aye but repetition can be made more interesting as in the case of the other games you mention....clicking a bloody wall over and over gets tiresome after a while...at least on carrier command there are planes flying about shooting at you etc.....Portal always reminded me of waiting in the dole office for an appointment.

Looking forward to Portal 2. Loved the first one. Second one looks like its got great atmosphere, puzzles and a lot larger in budget and number of levels.

Some guy in Finland died a couple weeks ago at the World Sauna championships or something....in 110 degree temperatures....the day I was reading about it, it was 104 here...and I was sitting in clothes drinking hot coffee..

(Ignore the a/c I was also enjoying).

    Serious!

    Here is the link..

EDIT: Oh that 110 degrees I mentioned earlier...was apparently Celsius..not Fahrenheit!!

    That can't be right, surely?

Copied and pasted from the "news" (if it's genuine news) site that Beanz linked to:

"Both of the event's finalists -- Russia's Vladimir Ladyzhensky and Finland's Timo Kaukonen -- were rushed to the hospital after collapsing during the competition, in which contestants are made to endure temperatures of 230 degrees Fahrenheit (110 degrees Celsius) for as long as they can. Ladyzhensky later died."

Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius, so surely no human can survive at anything approaching those temperatures, let alone ten degress higher than boiling point?

I decided to dig out Portal last night having just left it a few years ago. I'm on level 15 and I just can't figure out what to do! I've got past the first wall and activated the lift in the second area and that takes me to another area like the first part, but I can't do a boost jump like I did to get past the first wall because it won't let me put a portal on the roof!

I turned it off after that

Did you not see the pictures of the guy in that story with the skin pealing off him....he looked like a fray Bentos Pie...you know the layered crust.

You've never completed Portal? When I get home from work today I'll fire it up and see where you're stuck on level 15.
