Pain lies in your future, there really is no perfect solution.

The rotary clippers you can buy I have found are the solution that produce the fewest 'pulled hair' scenarios.

EDIT: Oh and check your ears too....

EDIT: Oh and check your ears too....

ive had them for years now, only the breakage of my scissors and my inability to afford a new pair has brought the subject to my mind.

infact when i was on roll ups (whatever you say - ed) when i was about 22, there was a great thing that happened. if i was lighting up a dog end sometimes the lighter would shoot out a mini fireball and rid me of all my hairs in one go, no pain no fuss.

of course trying to recreate that isn't that easy.

    my ears are fine. ;)

For the nose, I use the beard trimmer on my electric shaver.

Not sure what I'll use for the ears when they start hairing up.

    Well, that's what I do.

I have a pair a tweezers with a flat head. Just in with it, close it. Yank it out. 4-8 nosehairs looking back at you from their new home before they end up in sink. Repeat a couple of times. Feel good. :)
I guess you get used to it. Doesn't hurt on me.

I've used an electric nose hair trimmer for a few years now, but sometimes I'll sit and just rip them out with my bare hands. Sometimes it's fun to do just to see how long they are.

As for ear hairs I have really tiny white ones that take months and months to become noticable, now those hurt if you yank on em' So I use me clipper on those if I need to (fortunately I don't have to very often, dreading it in a few years though when I have friggin' forests growing out of them).

Most nose hair clippers that I have encountered in the past have been barbaric, they cut you and make matters worse. Superglue on a mathstick is even worse, I have found a tiny pair of surgical scissors from superdrug to be the easiest option, not that I have any of those things, of course. The secret is slowly, slowly, catch a monkey ! If all else fails, a lighter stuck up your nose may work, but don`t try this at home !

Grew a big beard and moustache, noone notices the nose hair then.

tweezers and a high pain threshold, makes me sneeze though

If you pick your nose frequently enough the hairs don't grow.

    I just pull them out.

Same here ... sometimes I use small scissors to trim the nose-hedges but I usually just pull (w. tweezers) the worst stumps out.

I'm only in my mid 30's and i've started to get this problem, i use a cheap rotary blade trimmer, it's okay but not very powerful and as someone else mentioned it can be painful if it catches a hair and stops midway!
I've also noticed my ears are starting to get more 'foresty'! i just stick the rotary blade in my earhole, seems to help! Though i'm not sure if that's a health risk.

Every Saturday morning I have 5 minutes taking care of such matters, nose, ear and eyebrow grooming. I actually have a rouge hair that grows out the top of my ear lobe for some reason, something I suspect that I'm not alone with.

By "rouge" do you mean red, or did you mean "rogue"? Either way, we need to know which, so we can make fun of you accordingly. :)

On a related subject, years ago I remember noticing a single, long white hair (about an inch in length) growing near one of my nipples. I remember thinking it odd at the time because I was quite young and didn't have too much body hair around there, let alone any grey hairs. Anyone else had this?

One of my exes had a single hair growing right nexr to her nipple, i told her to cut it off and she ended up cutting her nipple! She had to walk around with cotton wool in her bra for a week! Ouch!
