I decided to dig out Portal last night having just left it a few years ago. I'm on level 15 and I just can't figure out what to do! I've got past the first wall and activated the lift in the second area and that takes me to another area like the first part, but I can't do a boost jump like I did to get past the first wall because it won't let me put a portal on the roof!
I turned it off after that :lol:
okay... so when you get to the second part (that you're stuck on, after raising the little lift area), you need to put one portal on the bit sticking out above you. Then go up the stairs, make a portal at the bottom of the hole and fall through.
This bit has to be quick, as when you come out of the portal on the other side, you won't have enough momentum to get over the glass, so you need to make another portal on the ground where you're going to land while in mid-air to hurl yourself out of the high up portal again. Do it right and you will pass over the glass.

Thanks! I've been meaning to look up a video on Youtube for it, but never got around to having a look. The only thing with that video is that he goes too fast and it's hard to make out what he's doing some times, but I'll get there!
I would probably have thought of that if I'd have played throught he whole game at the time, but I got to level 15 really quick and then just stopped playing (as I do with alot of games). By he time I fired it up again, I'd forgotten most of the tricks that you could do!
