    Everyone knows commodores are gay.

I didn't look, as it says something about adult content and I got children in the room.

In this day and age there shouldn't be discrimination against users of any sort... even if they do use a Spectrum.

There would be no point in doing that ;-)

Yeah, we've had Commodore 64 users for 28 years now, I think it's time to accept that some people are just made that way. :)

Someone mentioned in another thread that gay jokes were being made but probably not being reported.

This thread is straying away from the forums rules. Tone it down please.

And don't hesitate to use the REPORT POST button as needed, but also please leave a thorough description as to why you are reporting a post, thanks.

Oh fer cryin' out loud. If anybody - gay, straight or even a Commodore 64 user (*spit*, I feel dirty for even uttering that phrase) has a problem with any post in this thread, then they must be seriously lacking in the sense of humour department.

I agree - most of the gay people on this forum will be laughing at the posts... I am happy to keep the thread open as long as nobody is offended. Remember there is a report post button though...

I disagree - I think that this thread should be locked, and ccowley should be banned for using such a sick and offensive term as "Commodore 64 user". This is a family forum, and such language is not acceptable.

Anyone who could be conned into buying a C64 when they went out to buy a computer deserves understanding, not mockery. They are victims of the C64 scam, not instigators. Yet society still treats them as sad losers of no importance whatsoever, which is wrong. Well, it's exactly right, but that's not the point.

After all, if things had been different, and you'd have had a lobotomy, you too might have been conned into buying a C64.

    Food for thought.

We have to be very careful as mods - it has come to our attention that some C64 owners can now read and write - it's sad that it ever came to that, but that's what the report post link is for.....

Agreed. This is 2010, we shouldn't discriminate against anyone - even if they do like to poke something brown. :p

I think we've all got the wrong end of the stick here.

This group isn't really about homosexuals with Commodore computers. Rather, when they say Gay Commodore Users, they're really referring to extremely happy naval officers of flag rank who take heroin.

Makes sense. To be honest, I read this thread expecting Lionel Ritchie to have been outed.

But remember folks, with careful work and patience Commodore Users cn be rehabilitated and reintroduced into society at large. Some even go on to learn simple tasks.

I'm worried that commode users are going to come over here and start pointing out the commonalities between the word "spectrum" and "rectum"

Isn't "Lemon" another name for lesbian anyway?

The first time I have seen a gay in a movie was "Police Academy".

For a long time I believed that all gays wear leather caps, have moustaches, hairy chests and big bellies :)

Maybe these type of gay people are Commodore users? :)

a ?lemon? refers to possibly substandard/faulty equipment

    So what if they do?

Just remember what rectums do to commodes. ;)

Not sure I agree with that...a child molester C64 group would be frowned upon.

Description: This is a group for homosexual, gay or lesbian Commodore users. If you like the Commodore 64, the VC20, the C16/116/Plus 4, the AMIGA or any other Commodore machine, this group is right for you. Talk about the old machines, find friends, find a lover (?), upload programs and demos and enjoy!

OK, so it's not a support group for people who've just realised they wasted their childhood on a shit computer.
You must be signed in and a member of this group to view its content.

Speaking of gays and computers I started to wonder if some computer in the 80ties was considered to be a gay favourite one.

    Today we have Macs:

    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2305969,00.asp

According to a recent survey conducted by Clark, Martire & Bartolomeo on behalf of ad agency Prime Access and PlanetOut, Apple joins such companies as Bravo, Showtime, HBO, Absolut, and Levi's as the most "gay-friendly" brands.

Were any such stereotypes during Spectrum prime time ?

That could be why no one has joined the group out of embarrassment.
