I've found a shortcut to Austria and on the border there is this mark. I've tried Google Translate to translate this text, but I'm still not sure what exactly it is written there, because of mishmash I got from GT. Can some native german speaking person translate the text ? I want to know if it is legal to go through by a car or by bicycle.

Thanks.

Put each word into Google Translate separately, rather than trust a computer to cope with the grammar of human languages.

The empty red circle means, "No Through Road." The words translate as, "Except local traffic, agricultural vehicles and cyclists."

Edit: "Except local residents, farm vehicles and cyclists."

I am not german, but spend some years reading it in school, however MANY years ago.. Do not remember much, but I will give it a try.

I think it says that the red and white circles above (forbidden?) is for everyone except people living close and some farming devices and for cyclists.

So I think you could cross the border by bike, but better get XTM to confirm it before you get arrested...

(Did not see your post ajmoss, but it appears as we have the same translation.)

Yes, your translations are correct. I hope bohusk does not drive through with a regular car and when stopped will pull one of his jokes ... like "yeah, this is a car, but I DO ride a bicycle regularly at home so technically I am a cyclist".

So bohusk, are you just looking for a quick way to "****ing"?
