is it a game with an end or do you carry on playing does anybody know? i fancy having a good crack at that :)

    Join the club, mel! I have been thinking the same thing - I have cleared the first two oyster-levels and are down in the caves now, treasure-hunting!

    Few years ago, helped with emulator (...save, play, load, play... save,... load... etc) I managed to clear litterally all... and what happens ?

    Game restarted on higher level :)

    I'm not sure, but I think game restarts after you 'do' all shells (don't care for treasure(s))

    What a great little game, and one I completely forgot existed before this thread. I had it on a Crash mag tape, but don't remember playing it much. I must have been mad.

    I bought the game on the strength of the Your Spectrum review, made a nice change from the games where you blasted everything in sight.

    yeah iw as trying to think of good games not already on speccy spoilers, thought of this game and remembered how good it is, id never seen it mentioned anywhere really, not on speccy spoilers, no remake (as far as i know)

    A real beauty of a game, gonna have to start playing this again...

    Perfect example of how little (pretty crappy) graphics and good gameplay make a great game... a remake would be awsome, perhaps with some dolphins kinda really speedily zipping around and jumping outa the water now and again... stuff like that..

    Multiplayer, with treasure you gotta get before anyone else does...

    Pleased this was mentioned :)

    i remember the scrolling being so bad that not just the playing area scrolls, but the status/score panel too...

    Haha, I`ll have to check it out on emulator when mah Commode loving mate is her.. just so I can laugh at him, for his bad taste.

    But, then again I could put the crap C64 version of Target Renegade, or Robocop 2 or any other blocky shite thing and just laugh at them :)

    Oh, and I was wrong about the graphics on spec version, apart from the diver who is poor (yet sufficient) the other graphics i.e. boat, sharks etc are fine... god it was years since I`d seen that octopus thingy that blocks ya way.

    Pure class game.

    I PLAYED the c64 version of manic miner yesterday, it looks and playes the same, but somehow its just not the same..... shame.
