I'm all for the decriminalization of most drugs, but only for people who are prepared to stay in their own homes whilst off their heads. Anyone who goes blundering about in public, worse still if they're driving a car, whilst stoned deserves everything the law throws at them.
Still, there's little point in locking him up. A community service order not only costs the taxpayer less, but might get him to support some worthy cause that otherwise would have a low profile.
They make their money from fining the users, and from keeping the traffickers out of trouble, after all the government supplies drugs to the traffickers, who then supply to the dealers who supply to the pushers who then supply to the users. So it makes sense to catch the last in line, then the money made is increased and the drugs can be confiscated and put back into the supply chain ( allegedly ) !
Oh god not someone else who seems to be reading these crazy conspiracy theory books !
So the UK government supply drugs to the dealers ? Yeah ummm right !

Only going on stories told by soldiers who were trained to fight, then spent most of their time guarding poppy fields, not to stop people cropping them, but from destroying them. I don't think it is too hard to figure out why !
Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........
they should just do what the dutch do.. you wanna get off your face.. do so.. end of.cutting down the amount of money it cost, will also cut the crime associated with it..
I don't care what people do , heck I smoked the odd herbal ciggy in 95 (in holland of course :) ) .. but well when you get behind a wheel or affect others (violence etc) different. throw the book at em..

If that was going on i cant believe in todays day and age a paper or Panorama type series wouldnt pick that up.
Nowadays you hear tons of stuff from a 'friend of a friend of a friend' or 'i read about it on the internet so it must be true'. All because of a few soldiers who guard poppy fields (if thats true) i wouldnt then think the whole of the UK government is behind the drugs trade in the UK etc. I mean theres been a few actual reported atrocities of UK soldiers killing civilians, what next ? The whole of the UK government want the soldiers to shoot all civilians etc ?

No not at all, they want to start them fighting amongst themselves untill there are so few left, they can mop up, they have said it many times in the past, and even more lately, that they would like a global community.

As much as that? Over here you have to do 50% of the sentence if it's aggravated (guns etc) otherwise I think they only have to do 25% or so.
So that would be 2 weeks.
Or a day if you're Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan.
Over here they'll actually make him do at least half the sentence though.
