anyway.. he even wrote on "paul is the bests" youtube video of it.

it amazes / "annoys" me such tools take credit for such talent.
still on the plus, I got in contact with Steve and he's a decent person.

Just had a look on that thread, i cant believe some people ! Find it really really sad they have to make up stuff like that. I mean if you click on that guys profile hes 38, so he must have been very young to have released that game. But why do people do this ? Over the years seen loads of instances, 'my dads a millionaire', 'oh i drove a Porsche', 'I earn 100k'. Heard people say these sorts of claims and its funny when you realise they're false. But why try to 'show off' ? Give me someone whos honest anyday rather than loads of BS.

Funny what you find on the internet

    He says:

"No. 40 I designed a system at college to make a loud room quiet."

Is this even possible? Can you wipe out sound and induce (near) silence, which is what I presume he means?

Sort of. Since sound is just vibrations in the air, emitting vibrations in the opposing phase will tend to cancel them out. That's how noise cancelling headphones work at any rate.

Mind you, I don't think it can be done for an entire room, as you can only cancel the background sound at a specific point and not entirely at that. He's definitely bullshitting to that extent.

ewgf, basically his name should have been billy liar.. I don't get why some folk bother to do it. Esp. since folk of the age group would know such a famous game...

it's not like he is even trying to impress a load of girls. he's trying to impress a load of geeks.

it would be better if he just started telling them about all the girls he has kissed. :p

    Greetings gentlemen,

Obviously you are aware that Mr.Kizza/The_Laird is making more claims with regards to programming games on the Spectrum and being called out again. While trying to defend himself, he just claimed,

"I don't even use tapes and already said that. And for the record I also already asked a few people on WOS. If you having nothing intelligent to contribute its really best not to bother."

This is with regards to transferring files from the Spectrum to the PC. I'm curious, did he actually ask "a few people" here for help in this matter or is this just further bullshit?

I'm not aware of him even ever coming to WoS!

[EDIT]When I come to think about it, the only person you could get an answer from would be Martijn, maybe if you compared IP addresses of Laird/Kizza with any users on here.

He claims now that he has an account over here, but doesn't want to reveal it so he's not subjected to further "abuse". That's easy enough to prove if the administrator of this site wants to write me.

    Haha! That's quite amusing!!!111eleventyone11!!!!!!!

Well claiming to have written a software back catalogue that was so blatantly by other people, then shouting at us that we're all idiots when we suss him kind of warrants some backlash.

I mean we're the idiots? We're devoid of intelligence?

    Really?

I won't go on as I'm sure you're quite aware of the somewhat amusing details of the past, and present :D

Oh I think he originally signed on here as Mr.Kizza at one time, or maybe the fine lines between forums is blurring again?

    He's a liar, of course.

And a foolish one too. As it was said, who is he trying to impress saying that he has written some Basic progs, rather crappy by current standards?

But I don't understand this "hunt" on him here, checking IPs.

If he wants to live in his world of illusions, he has right to do it.
  • edited September 2010
I don’t see it as a "hunt" at all and certainly not "on here" He’s been left well alone over the last 4 years. No one has chased him from forum to forum.
The reason it’s come up again now, is simply due to what looks like a clear repeat (if slightly to a lower scale) of the 2006 fiasco. This was discovered and brought to my attention by an AA member, and looking at the way the thread over there is going, it seems like quite a few of them would like some answers themselves.

The suggestion to "check IPs" was done to assist the chief moderator of AA, who is clearly looking for clarification of what he is being told himself by Kizza. It’s probably a rather futile exercise though, as I doubt he has contacted anyone here, let alone ever posted. I might be wrong sure, even using an alias he is as entitled to use this place as anyone else, but Im not altogether confident what point it proves, even if he has.

Also, Ill add Ralf, that he may very well have a right to live in a world of illusions, but he has never had the right to make other people unknowingly live in it with him.

It's Bizarre to think that it's been 4 years already, I have a PM from from someone on here from the original incident still in my inbox.

Maybe it's time to do some spring cleaning if I have 4 year old PMs lying around?

Hear hear ! The old method of 'ignore him and he'll go away' (Such as post nightmare users on forums like Krusty) never works. Kizza was never hounded from forum to forum, no one approached him at Jagfest.

If someone else mentioned they had coded a game for the Speccy and hadnt someone would reply and say 'are you sure youre not telling porkies?' but in this instance its even funnier as its a repeat offender !

These people can live in their weird fantasy world but i think we're quite allowed to take the p!ss when we discover their sham.

Yes, I merged his "Mr.Kizza" and "The_Laird" accounts some time ago. What were you arguing with him about?

Ah... now you're asking, my memory doesn't usually go back that far... here's the thread but now i read back i think i almost posted a lot of stuff and cancelled it at the last moment. i get accused of trolling on AA enough as it is. =-)

oh he did that as well (well tried it on with a few women I know, who all told him to get lost) .. and his wife kicked him out

it's more the fact that regardless of lying, it comes easy to some people. A certain music maker though, is top of the list of telling porkies, he'll get the "story" muddled up with different people , they'd talk and he'd get tripped up :)

perhaps rename kizza...walter mitty / Keyser S?ze (as in usual suspects character :))

Looking at some of his other posts at RG i dont reckon it is actually. Hes been there a while. Kizzas been kicked from the Atari forum so must have another home but yeah i reckon its not him. If he replies in that thread with 'yeah i wrote a few games back in the 80's, eg Elite, Knight Lore and Manic Miner' then it could be the same Walter Mitty

    ha ha ok.

did that clown guy ever try to come back?

Isn't Kizza actually Kieren Hawken, from Hertfordshire, organiser of one or more UK Jagfests? Scooby-clues. All we need now is a creepy old janitor at an abandoned amusement park.
