Denied: Still For Sale

edited September 2010 in Games
Afternoon all,

I've just been browsing the archive, and noticed that there are a number of Players games that are denied due to being "Still for sale".

The titles are:

- Hawk Storm
- Shark
- Super League
- World Cup Challenge
- Lop Ears

I just wondered 'where' these titles were still for sale.

Anyone?

Wasnt that 'company' who decided to release some speccy games on CD ? Altern-8 or something similar ? I know they bought the rights to a few old titles.

Yeah Paul is right. It was Altern-8. See here (scroll down to the last email).

Altern8 put some Speccy compilations out a while back (the first one got slated by RG, IIRC).

I don't think Altern8 is longer trading, so I'm not sure where that leaves the distribution of these games.

Edit: More on Altern8 here. Seems like they might still be going. Ambitious too. Forget James Cameron and Tim Burton messing around with 3D. These boys are doing 4D films!

Cheers for the update. That was a saga and a half wasnt it !

I remember he got out the odd game for the DS was it ? Dont know how successful it was. But getting hold of ex-Speccy programmers, doing a deal with them and then getting the games denied werent exactly going to get us buying his CD's left right and centre.

Dominion was mentioned here. It was released only as playable demo on YS covertape. Or is there a finished version after so many years?

Plus there will be some games not even on here (WOS) , for example I do have some master 3" discs of a whole companies games , none which are on WOS , and in fact I have the only known copies (as far as I know ) on loan from the original company , so hopefully in the later discs there might be something for everyone.

It's a shame that he got some exclusive material (maybe some never released games) but as his business plans failed we will never see it :-(
