just curious if they are applicable to compilations.. I mean like finders keepers + spellbound in series.

There are 2 different kinds of series currently distinguished, which I call "sequenced series" and "unnumbered series" (or "themed series" if you like).
Compilations were neither - they only share the same base name for marketing reasons, not because they (or the games on them) have anything in common; the programs on them are not even necessarily of the same type.
As such, I don't really want them to appear on either list.
