Aye yesterday when I checked to make sure the disc was working OK I was like "eh?" at some of the names, Bam Margera was the one that made me really think "What???".
Anyway been playing it this morning but the little un's are here today so I had to switch it off for obvious reasons, for instance this game swears more than I do when I'm boozed up, not really appropriate for a 3 and a 4 year old
Good fun so far, just played it as far as paying Crocket and Tubs...er...I mean Vice off so I could have Ricardo Diaz....er I mean my Mansion back (although the Diaz mansion from Vice City was obviously based on the one from the Scarface movie). It feels really weird as there's no jump, you can't tap the run button so you can keep sprinting, you use Circle instead of R1 to powerslide in the car, the music keeps playing even when you get out of the car (which isn't a bad thing but I'm used to it stopping, and having to switch radio Stations).
The soundtrack is pretty cool, and I like the way there's some songs which you have to unlock, there's also a pretty good selection of tunes all round, and I'm happy cos' as well as some old skool hip hop, 80's cheese, and the original score from the movie, there's a couple of Hardcore tracks sneaked into the rock selection :D

I've just given it an hour, and remembered why I stopped playing it... there's a certain mission which just annoys the heck out of me and I still can't seem to do it. Still had good fun though making drug deals etc., and chatting to random pedestrians (some of the things Tony comes out with are hilarious). Must say though, that the soundtrack really is my favourite thing about the game... as soon as I started it played the theme to Beat Street, followed by Cameo (She's Strange), and then Planet Patrol (Cheap Thrills). It was like I was in the 80s all over again. :D
I completed The Darkness last night. Great game, but the ending sucks! It just kind of....ends! One small cutscene that doesn't really explaine much and that's it.
A great game though and well worth playing through. Plus, it's easily picked up for less than a fiver these days too ;-)

I started playing it again last night on hard mode. It was too, erm, hard. So I've started it again on normal, gonna see if I can get all the achievements I missed first time round. Apparently, Digital Extremes are working on a sequel.
Just completed the penultimate level on War of the Worlds on the PSX. Jeepers, there was a bridge to pick up. I've been on that level since the game came out. Phew! Right then, now to face the Elders and their... WHAT-IN-BLUE-BLAZES-IS-THAT?
I got to the boss last night but had to go out before facing him which I was actually glad of. I remember him being a right pain so I didn't want to face him after a good few solid hours working through the last 3 chapters.
I was very surprised that I killed him on the first go. And I had to use only 1 medium health kit. Dunno how much ammo, but it wasn't too much, maybe about 50 plasma and definitely 4 force energy.
The patterns were exactly the same and even how many hits for each part was the same (4 each for the 5 things around his mouth and either 4 or 5 for the chest bits, I couldn't quite tell with that because I didn't know which bits I was hitting).
I did the usual and killed 2 of the mouth things and only hit the rest 3 times before killing the third. That way when it pics you up you've only got two shots to make instead of 4-8.
I only had to use the force energy on the only two big fat buggers that appeared after that (the ones that spawn the wee things). One each to kill them and then one each to the swarms coming out of them. After that it was back to shooting the chest.
Far too easy. I thought the patterns and toughness might have changed a bit, but they hadn't changed at all. Very disappointing. So, if you've finished the game already then the only real problems you'll have is against the big armoured guys (but there's only one place that you can't hide from it) and the food storage boss (although it is actually easier than I thought)
I've started it again to get the rest of the guns upgraded just for the hell of it. I only used the Plasma Cutter and the Force Gun on the run I just did so I'm gonna have fun with the rest of the guns this time :D
--edit--
Oh yeah, played Halo Reach again last night. On Legendary. Holy crap that's hard! And that was on Co-op! I think we got to the 5th mission before stopping. I'm a bit pissed off though, I managed to kill about 9 of the Moas (I thought I'd lost count but I hadn't) and I managed to do Mission 2 without getting on a vehicle and I didn't get either achievement!! I was the 2nd player on the same console, but I didn't think that'd have anything to do with it.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Waiting for missus Boozy to sod off to uni so I can put Scarface back on, I'm lovin' it so far and I've barely scratched the surface, although since this is a new sandbox experience for me it's like learning to play a sandbox game in the GTA mould all over again which is almost as enjoyable as all them years back when my best mate used to bring his PS2 to my house with GTAIII, and we'd play mission by mission or Drive til' you burn (custom game we'd play which has nothing to do with the game itself, basically you cause a ruckus until you have at least 2 stars, then the first car that comes along you jack, and then drive til' you explode).
Plus you're controlling Tony Montana, how awesome is that? I just love the fact that 90% of the conversations you have are usually just a barrel of insults. Another thing I'll say about it is the cars handle so much better than GTA as well, not on the whole, but in general, the super fast cars in this game are actually drivable without requiring months of practice beforehand. Still think it's weird not having a jump though.

I've got this on the Wii. It's an OK game, but one that I've had real trouble with getting into. Some of the missions were pretty good, but I seem to remember having trouble clearing out a gang from the drive-in cinema. i gave up trying after a while and havn't played it in ages

I'm on that bit now, it's not so hard clearing out the muppets but the leader with the 4X4 with the mounted machine gun on the back seems to be an unusually good shot. Killed me a few times yesterday then I had to go to bed for work, so I gave up, I spent earlier on this morning just driving around and doing drug deals and buying stuff. Oh I got the Cigar Shop as well, evil flashback to Vice City's speedboat missions, but the boat on this is a joy to drive compared to that.
The drive thru theatre will be next on my list when I have some better weapons.

When you've done South Beach, and you get to a mission where you have to save a drug shipment from being attacked by Gaspar's gang, let me know how you get on... I've been stuck on it for years.
Been playing the "Liars and Cheats" DLC for Red Dead Redemption. It's got multiplayer horse racing (and you can shoot other riders), and multiplayer Poker and Liar's Dice.
Seven new gang hideouts and four new hunting grounds have been added to free roam, and you can unlock the well powerful explosive rifle.
It's not bad what I've played so far. I came last in a "grand prix" of horse races, but fared better in a game of online poker!

Yeah, I downloaded this today as well...I actually tried to join your game again, but got the same old "error" message...think it might have something to do with my "NAT" settings....
Anyway, it is pretty cool! I got really lucky in a game of Liar's Dice and managed to get most of the achievements to do with that, and then bluffed my way through a very long game of Poker to go on and win that too...
And the horse races are quite a good laugh, although I got really annoyed because I was about to win my 3rd Grand Prix race and get the achievement and then the numpty behind me shot my horse...
Liking it lots...can't wait for the Zombie DLC though! That'll hopefully be the best one yet....
I was the 2nd player on the same console, but I didn't think that'd have anything to do with it.
...that's probably the reason. One of my mates had the same thing happen to him...I haven't attempted it on Legendary yet...Finding it hard enough on Heroic! :)

Damn! I'm stuck just defending the coke trucks in Little Havana, Tony's right when he says Cock-a-Roaches, those basts are swarming all over the place, and just when you think you've got rid of them all more appear :D
Just spent another 6 quid that I probably should have used buying food, purchasing a double pack of Pure and Lego Batman for the 360.....
Thought that was a fairly decent price for two games though...basically 2.99 each just like in the days of the Speccy! :D
Pure is basically the modern equivalent of ATV Simulator, and sees you chucking a quad bike...sorry...ATV...around various bumpy courses and pulling loads o' tricks and stuff. Pretty decent and enjoyable!
Lego Batman of course, speaks for itself! I like the fact they've taken all the best bits from various incarnations of old Batty and lumped them all together...only played the first couple of levels but it seems pretty much like all the other Lego titles, but with the added bonus of different utility suits and vehicles....plus the fact it's got all the major villians of Gotham in it!

Definitely a typical Lego game which is no bad thing. It's great being able to play both sides of every story.

My mum just purchased a Wii so as she can try and get all healthy-like with Wii Fit, so guess who's going to have to get some games to play on it when she passes out from exhaustion....:D
I've already picked up Nights - Journey into Dreams, 'coz I seen it for 3 quid....only had a quick go, but it seems a lot like the original....
Madworld, No More Heroes, the Mario games, and all the Wii exclusive Resident Evil stuff are all probably going to be purchases in the next few months, and maybe Metroid....anything else worth getting that I'm forgetting about?
I started Dead rising 2 last night. It's much better than the first one. There's more to pick up and use, more costums to try etc. You do get a bit of "this is the same as the last one" as after the rather slow opening sequence, you start off in a shopping centre!, but it just seems to be more fun this time around.
I also think it's a shame that they released Case Zero as a demo as it's got more in common with the first game than the second. There's not a great deal of choice when it comes to weapons, there are tons of things that you can pick up in Case Zero that are useless, but in the full sequel, they are combinable to make new weapons etc
I had great fun just mucking about with it last night and I almost died lauging when I put on a baby romper suit, a wolly hat anf some of thouse joke glasses with a big nose ind silly moustache...then tore arond on a kiddy's trike, legs peddling at 100 mph, but only moving at 5mph
I'm looking forward to spending some serious time with this one later!

ordered this last night from game using ?16 of my reward points, should be here by monday, i enjoyed the case zero game was well worth the 400 ms points, look forward to playing the main thing, i have been playing naughty bear, looks cute but not what the kids should be playing
Only go for RE4, Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles. The rest are just ports that don't make use of the motion of the Wiimote or aiming with the Wiimote. Well, RE1 is like that and I've heard that the other(s) are like that aswell (I think only RE0 and RE1 have been released so far, but I'd be surprised if they didn't release the other main RE games like that aswell).
RE4 uses the Wiimote to aim (which is utterly fantastic) and the other 2 I mentioned are on rails shooters.

Still playing Scarface, Only just advanced the story to "The Islands" after spending about 2 days doing about 1 mission per play, and filling up my cash and rep with The Enforcer, and doing Felix Leads, and large distribution missions instead. Taking my time with this one, and loving every minute of it, although when I next switch it on it's time to kill Nacho Contreras.
I've read a lot of things about this game calling it a Hitman wannabe, and that it doesn't hold a flame to GTA.
Well I'd like to say no it's piss all like Hitman, hitman is ****ing crap! Also it does hold a flame to GTA, it's better than GTA III, and grittier than Vice City, San Andreas still holds the title for Sandbox Game with most things to do aside from the story though, that game although it's not as gritty as GTA III, and not as pretty as Vice City murks all other sandboxers for sheer content I'm afraid.
Bottom line is regardless of what the clueless Halo fanboys say Scarface holds it's own against the big boys.
Anyway also today in another stroke of luck I got God Hand, and Yakuza for PS2 for $10 from the vid shop. First time me and missus Boozy have been to the vidshop in about 6 months, ended up with 4 Blu-Ray movies on a 5 night rental for under $10 (Netflix must really be murdering video shops?). I've been looking for those 2 games for a few years now as they're not that easy to get hold of. I can get Yakuza 2 anywhere but today is the first copy of the first game I've seen in about 2 years.
Almost bought the godfather for $9 as well, but I think I have enough gangster/mobster type stuff going on with Scarface at the min :D
See that ramble ewgf would be proud.....this is what happens when I don't visit WOS for 20 hours straight
I personally thought the Hitman games were great. The last one was easily the best of series too, so many fun ways to kill people. Poisoning donuts and delivering them to an FBI stakeout van is surprisingly satisfying.
I'm tempted to buy Scarface now. I was put off my the lukewarm reception it got at the time. It's lazy journalism to just compare any open world game unfavourably with GTA. I wish they'd review games on their own merits. It's like saying every puzzle game that comes out isn't as good as Tetris.
Well, I finished Halo Reach on Legendary Co-op last night. The last level wasn't as bad as some of the others but it still took a while. There wasn't much change with the Phantoms at the end either. Okay, they did hit a bit harder but as long as you're fairly quick then it shouldn't be a problem at all.
And I finally bought it for myself this afternoon. After getting 34/49 of the achievements. All I really need to do is finish it solo. Which I'll be doing on normal. There's no way I'll be able to do it on Legendary Solo
We did screw up getting the Scorpion achievement though. Near the end when you've got a ghost or two and the turrets on the cliffside we went too far down there and couldn't get back to the tank. If you get near the end of the proper wall on the left you'll only be able to go as far back as the rocks that you first see the turrets from. Really bloody annoying as the garage for the Scorpion is just after you clear that area! Basts.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Well Mrs. Boozy has left for uni so that means it's Scarface time again.
Just going to start the south beach missions, so I'll no doubt be coming up to that evil mission that was mentioned earlier in the thread, I thought you'd do North beach first but no?
Gonna have to distribute some more coke though, only got a couple of mill in the bank, and as the game goes on it's surprising how quickly your fortune vanishes. I've coasted my way this far with loads of cash, and enough to buy most of the available exotics and still have enough left over for a few kilos, and a new car. Hit a brick wall of skintness yesterday, my gang heat got too high and every single front on my distribution missions got hit up by rival gangs.
this game is starting to get hectic, and I'm still loving it :D

Basts.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Has the god-awful aiming not wound you up yet? :-P
