There's no reason a spoof can't be good, just look at Airplane. The problem with this one is that Twilight wasn't a very good film to begin with.
Look at the comedy and spoofs in the 80s. Look at the ones from the 00s and you'll see a big difference in quality. The new ones are shite. All spoofs suck nowadays.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Horror stereotypes have gone bizarro these days anyway, a vampire can walk around in the sunshine, a werewolf can transform every night, not just at a full moon, and a zombie can learn, and sprint faster than 1980's Linford Christie on crack.
Basically In 20 years time the rules will have changed completely, all the traditional horror monsters will be dumbed down to ****, probably carry an i-Phone, and tweet to their other dead mates when they're about to make a kill.
Damn right. The office scene about the identity parade (right after the shower scene) is absolutely brilliant :D
Shame they made part 3 though, that wasn't as good as 1 or 2.

Not quite the same, but in Day of the Dead (the original) "Bub" remembered human things while he was a zombie. I think that was the starting point for zombies learning or relearning things, they're just slow learners ;)

Hollywood always made horrors then just made them go downhill, looking at nightmare on elm street, the first one is excellent, then they slowly ran out of ideas, anyways some faves i liked-
Childs play 1
Nightmare on elm street 1
Friday the 13th 1
Omen 1-3
Bram stokers dracula
Exorcist 1
The lost boys
Horne and Cordon did that vampire spoof recently 'Lesbian Vampire Killers'..that got panned everywhere it was reviewed. I haven't seen it but I bet it's total crap, coming from them. I find them totally unfunny, yet they seem to be treated by the media as some kind of geniuses of new comedy, straddling the boundary of mainstream and alternative, when in fact they're just s**t.
Steve Coogan did a series called Doctor Terrible's House Of Horrible about 10 yrs ago and there was a spoof vampire episode in that called 'Lesbian Vampire Lovers Of Lust' which was pretty funny...Horne & Corden probably ripped it off tbh, even the title is similar.
not seen these Twilight fims, they look a bit 'trendy' for my liking. like Buffy The Vampire Slayer but updated for the 10's. I may be wrong though, that's just the impression I get...
Thing is, if you're going to spoof a film that's already a comedy, send-up or just dumbed-down for its audience then you'd better have something smart up your sleeve or you're going to fail big time. And the Wayans just can't do anything funny, nor can Friedburg/Seltzer.
Spoofs themselves aren't always so bad. "Not Another Teen Movie" was very funny, taking off contemporary high-school dramas as well as harking back to older stuff like "The Breakfast Club". "Scary Movie" was a nice idea, but picked on a film (Scream) which was already tongue-in-cheek and failed to make anything smarter. The second one was awful too, but kick Wayans off director duties and bring in David Zucker and Scary Movie 3 turned out OK. Though not 4.
But there was then this rush of utter crap, starting with "Date Movie", "Epic Movie", etc. God-awful dumb rot, from Friedburg/Seltzer writing and directing, and they're dreadful. I just wonder where they keep getting the funding for for these, and who's dumb enough to keep paying to see them and keep them going? You see the same names writing and directing these films over and over, and they're all consistently crap. But then I don't understand how anyone finds any of Will Ferrel's comedies even slightly watchable.

That's more to do with with people trying to go back to the actual legends than changing the rules though...all that stuff was brought in with movies early last century to make them spookier....
Dracula, for instance, wanders around in the daylight quite happily in the book....he's just at his best at night...
Werewolves historically changed whenever they wanted, and it was only in certain regions that the full moon was a factor....
Zombies were merely people brought back from the dead...some moved fast, some moved slow.....and they had varying levels of intelligence, but most were effectively held in a trance-like state by their "master" who would call them forth from the grave...
So although some horror has moved away from stereotypes, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's wrong to do so...most of the horror ones we know exist because someone changed the rules once or twice already....There were probably loads of hardcore vampire fans pissed off when Nosferatu appeared in 1932 and was scared of sunlight! :D

well, I quite liked Anchorman, and Blades Of Glory... wouldnt say they're masterpieces or anything but I thought they were watchable. agree with what you're saying mostly though, those '*insert genre*-Movie' ones are seriously unfunny and I don't understand how anyone likes them either.
my favourite 'spoofs' are pretty much any Christopher Guest film: Spinal Tap, Waiting For Guffman, Mighty Wind, Best In Show. they're all basically the same films with even the same actors, just different subject matter being sent up each time. but they're genuinely funny (imo)

Vampires walking around by day I have no issue with (that's how it was in the first place), but it was when they turned into diamond covered angst ridden twats that annoyed me!
Zombies running? Well, you could blame 28 Days Later for that, but since in that film they were infected, not zombies, the film never broke the "law" (although, again I have no idea why you couldn't have running zombies). It's just that zombies films since then have gone for the running zombie.

Which one is better... Vampire sucks or Twilight? The movie spoofs only Twilight or also spoofs other movies like Interview with the vampire?
An' you know what they said?
Well, some of it was true!
I'll have to do a review of that for my newspapper... well Twilight was really bad, so a spoof can never be that good...
I prefer "porkys" over "american pie".

Now i like some of his films. Adam Sandler and Martin Lawrence on the other hand, I just don't get at all.
