Is WOS loosing its sense of humour?

edited October 2010 in Chit chat
I have noticed that of late WOS is not the same old jovial, banter-ful and interesting place it once was.

Whilst we seem to be chatting to the same extent, the threads seem somehow staid compared to those of say of the past. I look back at some of my old threads and posting and think, my what a blast we had.

What's changed? Are we just getting old? Have you indeed noticed that WOS seems to be a bit booooring these days. Or is it just my imagination (once again), running away with me?

Ceartainly, losing Joffa has left a big whole in the bantermanship of WOS. Ehhh by gum.

    You are very right !

I personally have not felt it has been the same since we lost Frobush, we were all down about it and we are still feeling it. Somehow to me it didn't feel right to be going about things as if it was " business as usual ", although he would have wanted it that way. Things are bound to get sillier before long, but I suppose it takes time. He was the one who pulled things apart, if he felt that anything was getting too serious, like his comic song titles and made up groups on the listening to thread, just to see if anyone would question them. Not forgetting his silly videos and his comic posts:smile:

Just to echo what grey key said it does seem losing Joffa left a large void (that may never be filled) and yes, things have got a bit stale recently. We need more people like Mile or Beanz to liven things up!

It also doesn't help when people take a bit of friendly banter personally, which I have found a few times:p

Also we only have 519 active members, I hate to think how few of them post regularly, perhaps the mood on here may change for the worse. The only solution I can think of is that the mods should ban anyone who cracks a joke or makes a funny post, or indulges in banter. That way we wouldn't have to worry if it got too serious !

Perhaps someone should start a thread called " who would you ban and why ? "

I would ban Mile and Beanz - Why? Because they are silly !

Don't need a line here....English accent...Texas....I can say just about anything and it works.

Is that true then that Americans go wild over the English accent?
Do they expect all English people to be either upper class or cockney? Cos that's the only English accent i hear in American programmes even if the character's supposed to be from Birmingham.

It's nothing to do with Joffa, there was a lot of humour on here before he appeared.

It's one thing displaying a sense of humour and another just talking bollocks which is all a couple of self proclaimed humourists on here seem to do...
I wanna tell you a story 'bout a woman I know...

OK, I admit I loosed the WoS sense of humour on the world, and now it has gone feral. Let's hope it comes back before we lose it forever!!

Yeah, WOS has been losing quite a few people for various reasons this year, and I reckon it might be down to that...It seems to have been a generally depressing year all round for quite a few folks too..

It'll pick up again though! People are having babies and getting married and stuff, so hopefully some joy will rub off and that'll put everybody in a happier mood, and (ab)normality will return!

Just hope people give it time, and don't disappear never to return, thus making it less fun and adding to the problem! :D

I think the sick jokes thread needs to be re-opened :-P

I lost my job last year and have been working on a project using my own cash which doesn't seem to be working out too well so I'm forced into a position where I'm 30,000 pounds down and nothing to show for it. Trying and failing is cool though. Not trying, thats the real downer.

I still have a sense of humour though and I my good love-making hand still has its health.

PM'd reply because I got utterly crucified when I suggested CSS'ers change a little when CSS went downhill. The "heart" of the scene needs restrengthening - too much grumpiness tolerated here.
