Try reading more of the forum posts from last year. Then you will understand my post. The regulars did.

For me WOS is still a funny place, much more funny than real life with its jobs, politics, debts, diseases, deaths and nagging women :)

I think WOS is doing alright, most forums go through patches where it seems bad etc. We have a good mix of people here in my view, a wide range: people who post a lot (and wind up a few other members), newcomers who arrive and create new threads about games, people who just seem to want to moan constantly, a few famous faces who arrive from time to time and a lot of good forum regulars. Its a good mix. Sadly not everyone will get on.

The Games part of the forum seems much more active than it has in the past, also one of the best things is the homebrew scene on the Speccy, 2010 is the best year yet with a lot of releases.

Also think with the upcoming retro show it'll be good, theres a fair few WOSsers going and i'm sure they'll all get on well.

I just realised how new you are to WOS, the reply made me laugh, along with many others on here, unfortunatly you missed out on one of our old members humour. FROBUSH was a great guy who was as funny as **** and as daft as a brush with no bristles, sadly he died earlier this year. If you look up his profile and posts, you will be amazed. The Sod Off reply is more of a compliment, than an insult:smile:
Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........

It's very sharp 'n' spiky. Looking more like Terrance Stamp now! EEeeevil!

God I love Google Earth !

Mile is reading a newspaper, Beanz is ( well I wont say ), Mell is walking his dog and listening to music, Scotty and PSJ are about to change nappies, and me, well I seem to have a couple of police vans parked outside my house, I will have to draw the curtains and check it out:-P

    I wasn't really offended. I was being ironic! :p
As I was also when i said "I miss the good old days", not having been around for that long.

Looks like some of us are again reaction as we want to have it, with a lot of underlines punches (below the belt, but still funny???).

Is that like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife?
A no smoking sign on your cigarette break?

So what you are basically saying is that he was being anything but ironic.
!Ohh I simply love your British seance of honour and that thing you call Iraghney!!"

Well the statements in that song are more examples of bad luck than irony.

I suggest we ask bohusk to post more to regain a substantial amount of humour. Unfortunately, by virtue of being born where I was born I am in no position to contribute in the humour stakes. But at least I have the birthright to use the Hoff in my avatar and get away with it, so sod off, all of you.

That's because the Germans have the closest sense of humour to the British - more than any other nation....

Dunno, I'd say that the Dutch are probably even closer.

I rely on this site to give me my fix of British humor. It is my lifeline amongst all of these humorless yanks!

    Too much 'deniancing' these days.

Old WOS was pretty much self moderated and did fine..New WOS, you have filters, bannings, warnings, forum rules geared for the minority rather than the majority...and no mongy lard.

Indeed, I love your guys' humour (especially word plays) so WOS is the perfect place for me to go as it combines this and the Speccy.

As for the humorless yanks, you should introduce them to some British humour by showing them what they missed - some games that yanks can't wank. Like this one, of course.

Well, I have yet to find anybody in this small town that even had a C64 in the past. Retro gaming isn't really a pastime out here, they all spend their time shooting defenseless animals and singing awful country music. But hey, the scenery is nice!
