if he does / did .. well he sure don't make himself known..

in an interview, he apparently doesn't use the internet.. but I find that tricky to believe to be honest.

Why is Sir Clive "Sir" ?
  • edited November 2010
I'm not exactly sure, bohusk, but this might be an insight:
This was at a time when Sinclair Research was formed to build on the success of Sinclair Radionics. Clive was already a household name and brought a certain cachet to Mensa, making it an organization people respected and wanted to join. As recognition perhaps for the effect he has had on the development of twentieth century culture he was honoured with a knighthood in 1983 and this also gave Mensa some reflected glory. His most important contribution to Mensa was something he partly funded himself: he paid for advertising in national newspapers whereas before Mensa had relied on publicity and free advertising. He also established and mostly funded the yearly conference Mensa at Cambridge, which did much to bring intellectual respectability to the society. By 1983 British Mensa had 10,000 members and 38,000 by 1996.

So does that mean he has to pay for his porn?

No, he's still paying. I bet she aint cheap to keep. After all what to you think first attracted her to that millionaire 60 year old?

I know, she's a retro computer fan on the sly and want's to get hold of his r@re stuff.

She could look like the back end of a bus and he still be paying, at least this way he gets value for money.

Value for money, besides looking nice, does she cook well, clean the house, sleep in the same bed as him every night and make great love to him. I may not have millions but I'll tell you what my wife gives me more bang for my buck than he's getting.

Dont go for an orange one or one from Tesco's. I'd reccomend a virgin. You could try 3 but that gets a bit expensive.

Well, he used to make-a-chip regularly during the ZX80/81/Spectrum heydays ...

Hey! Be respectful of Mr Sinclair :D Sir Clive and porn... tut! tut!

He problably doesn't get involved with the Spectrum anymore as he's been there, done it and got the t-shirt. Why would he go on the WOS forum when he has a 33 year old former lap dancer to attend to? He is not getting any younger (so to speak) so I would not believe for one minute that wasting time on the internet is how he wants to spend the final precious period of his life - I don't see him as the kind of person to just sit watching ******G Coronation Street nevermind 'Social networking'. No wonder he stays away from the net, I know that my productivity drops considerably as soon as I go online. I've been up three hours already and spent most of that time wilfing...

If you wanna be a 'doer' on this planet then you have to work hard and get on with it! Play time doesn't have to mean wasting time!!!

Here is an interview with Sir Clive from May 2010: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/7696528/Sir-Clive-Sinclair-interview-The-beauty-and-the-boffin.html

So.. I'm gonna make like Sir Clive and get on my bike :)

ASM congratulates himself for progressing to the WOS grumpy old gits club :D

He's lost a few on the poker tables too. Did anyone see him in that late night poker tournament on the telly?
