Demos
It's all a bit daunting to me when I look at those demo sites like raww and demotopia. I'm interested in trying out some demos on my 128, but I don't know where to begin. Raww in particular seems confusing- it doesn't seem to have a demo index, just news and links. Anyone out there able to help the layman? What are the best ones, and where are they?I've only been intersted in the original games of the eighties, but a Doom demo that I tried a few weeks ago got me curious.

point taken on the missing "demo-index" on raww.org -- it's been on my "to-do" list for quite a while. but the site is more about news, whereas demotopia is the archive.
before the redesign, gasman did have a list of "top-notch" demos, but it's not there now. a good option would be to check out the recent parties (from the drop-down list-box -- newest at the bottom). bear in mind tho' that some of the demos won't look so good on a standard 128k ZX. some won't even run.
which demos are best is very subjective. i like old-school stuff. look in the list for things like Shock --
