Definitely doesn't look good for anyone planning on flying at the moment.

Well apparently we've got more ice tomorrow, I can walk into work (normally takes me about 40 minutes), will probably be sliding about a bit but should be able to get there. Will wear a big coat to cushion me in case I go A over T..

scottie, it's not because of their lack of equipment...e.g. like finland. as this weather

not cold ?.. it's -12 right now.. and maybe -3-5 in the day at heathrow

I'd rather you and everyone else were grounded and safe than to hear far worse news..

Getting ready for work. I'm wondering if the trains will be running cos there was about an inch of snowfall yesterday afternoon, it's also very foggy outside. It's currently -6C outside.
Should find out at about 730 when i get to the train station.
    The trouble with tribbles is.......

Thankfully I booked today off. It's -10.3 degrees C here right now and this is the time I'm normally standing at the bus stop (7:20am).

Tomorrow doesn't look much better though. They are running a reduced "Saturday service" on the trains here.

Still I have to go out this morning to the shops. Should hit a max temp of around -5 deg this afternoon - cosy! :D

boiler has packed up, father-in-law is coming around to look at it (after I have left for work!!!) he's very frustrating, as he only thinks in right angles, and because I lack the skills with my hands, he assumes that I know nothing about any practical matters which simply isn't the case.
I understand how to build a a garden wall for one example, I can work out exactly how much materials we will need, cost it, etc, I just can't lay bricks, and so we end up with a garden wall 2ft lower than we wanted.... cos he built it his way.

I have printed off concise information about the error codes, etc, and that I have done all of the obvious checks, made sure the pressures are correct, etc and stuck that on the boiler with very strong magnets,a cross the hatch to the control panel, so he has to remove it to open. Bets on him not reading that??

He'll probably just turn up with a roll of gaffer tape and a hammer..

Well Gatwick managed to put out 280 flights yesterday whilst heathrow managed only 8??

It's a similar story today, Gatwick are running many more flights than Heathrow today.

Well our boiler needs a new pump. House is cold, but we can huddle in the lounge with the gas fire, it's not all bad. I'm going to skip a shower tonight, bathroom is too cold, and water is so cold that by the time the electric shower has heated the water it's just a trickle.

It's snowing here again tonight too. Roads are ultra-slippery, just saw a BT OpenReach van turn into a main road sideways (didn't hit anything though, luckily). Scary stuff. Not sure if I'll be able to get to work tomorrow. :-(
