I ran into John Hurt when he was filming in Berwick. Didn't want to bother him though.

Erm. I met the Krankees once.

Seen Derek Jameson a chip shop a few , but didn't care to speak to him.

Saw Patrick Moore at Barnham station one morning, and decided it was too early in the morning to bother him, though I now wish I'd said hello.

    That's it.

    Oh, and minor royalty once.

    not very interesting.

I haven't met many... I've met Iggy Pop and his band, the Ozric Tentacles (had a smoke with them too), erm, Frank Bruno, Jimmy White (really nice bloke), Jonathan Ross and David Prowse. I shook Jay Kay's hand once, but it was from the front row at a gig, I didn't actually meet him as such.

I think it is Ali G, and the Whitehouse one just amazing!

I met the Stampers, of Ultimate fame, and they put on a fantastic spread of farmhouse food and said "we've been watching you and your work" and I just melted! WOW!

    EDIT - spelling!

I've also met Annika Rice, when she was doing "Challenge Annika", and it was all staged! They landed the helicopter three times in a field behind my house before they got it right! Fat arse!

Well, I've met both Burt and Dick Rutan of SpaceShipOne fame. Actually, I've met Dick Rutan twice, the first time at Mojave where he was demonstrating a rocket engine, and the second time at the airshow here in the Isle of Man.

A bit about the very small plane they strapped two rocket engines to:

    Here's a good one...

I saw the Spice Girls (circa 1995) at "Party In The Park" in Preston, before they where famous! And get this - I went to the school opposite the school Mel C went to. And we used to have fights every Friday, cos we shared a playing field and stuff!

I met Dave Lee Travis years ago when he came to open a housing estate in Holytown where i used to live. I got an autographed picture that i've now lost.
I also nearly met Tony Blair, when he came to the Lanarkshire Development Agency where i used to work. Just after he arrived i was ushered into a room and told to stay there until he'd left! Never understood why.

Given the strength of opinion in the recent Doctor Who thread I'm not sure I should be entirely proud of this, but what the hell...

Me and my friend saw the guy who plays/ed the vicar in Emmerdale walk out of Moss Bros on Northumberland street, with a big smile on his face. Obviously wearing the suit he'd just bought.

Saw the guy who played Gary Mallet in Corrie just standing outside the central station, he heard me say to one of my mates "That's not just Gary Mallet there is it?", and after that you could see that he was straining to keep the smile from showing. This was long after his character was gone from Corrie. He was probably just happy somebody recognised him.

Saw some old guy from the X-Files at Forbidden planet in Newcastle, he was swamped with nerds hounding him for answers, while me and my mates were just laughing, and saying things like "They could've got a real cast member".

I told Donna Air to go fuck herself when I was 15 years old, she called me a hippy or a scruff or something.

I threw a piece of Greggs pasty at Tony Blair, the guy must actually be OK in real life because he turned laughed and said "Good shot!".

I've been for a pint with the guys who played Fru and Barney in Byker Grove, they were friends of a friend of a friend.

I've heckled Declan Donnely in Masters Bar (dunno what I was doing in there, somebodies Birthday I think?).

A guy I once knew knocked Ant McPartlin out near Greys Monument about 18 years ago, it was fun to watch.

Another Byker grove cast member used to party with me and my mates quite a bit, I think she was called Bridget in the show, but it may have been her real name, I can't actually remember? She had a big weird birth mark type thing on her neck, so she always wore collars on the show.

I've met Robson Green, he's a twat

Paul Kinnel drove me and my mates to a new years eve party in 2001 or 2.

Me and my friends used to frequently see Malcom "Supermac" MacDonald walking his dog down the park, complete with bottle of whisky in pocket.

EDIT: Almost forgot, I was the lighting tech at a Rythm Masters gig, I drank most of the guys free beer, and they weren't pretentious arses like most DJ types they were actually really cool fellas.
