The Never Ending Story (on a +3)

edited December 2010 in Games
I recently got a tape copy of The Never Ending Story, but it doesn't seem to load on my +3. Are there any known issues with this game and +3s/+2A/Bs?
It loads all the way, and then crashes.

Is it the one that came with the original 128 ?

Quick test: Try it in an emulator ? :)

I'm on a temporary machine at the moment so little is installed otherwise I'd of tested it (each version)

Could you have the 48K version I wonder ?

Just installed Spin and quickly tried :)

    The 128 version works in both +2 / +2A and +3 mode.

The 48 version only appears to work in a 48, the Speedlock falls apart on a 128 model.

I've just tried it on Spectaculator in +3 mode and it works fine.

If you do get it working that music will drive you mad after a while!

Thanks everybody for your answers. It looks like mine is a dud tape then, or it doesn't like my tape deck (most games fine on it). I'll try a different deck and/or fiddling with the volume. If that doesn't work hopefully the person I got it from may exchange it for another copy or another 128K game.

I never owned a +3 myself but I remember seeing it running in the early 90's on a mate's +3 (Jeremy Snaith's) without a problem.
