The Android gaming thread

Admittedly, the app store's a long way behind the Iphone's, however there's still some great gamer out these.

I've been addicted to Game Dev Story.
It's like Software Star on the Spectrum, only good!

Wordfeud is easily my most played Android game. My user name is Alarm, should anyone fancy a game.

i aint had an android phone long and havent had a real go at gaming on it but what ive tried so far has been a major letdown :(

tried a speccy emu and i cant run forward and jump at the same time?? makes games like manic miner unplayable :(
the controls generally are arrows on the touch screen and ive found you cover half the screen when pushing them so cant see half the screen??

It sounds like your 'phone (like mine) has a touchscreen which can only register one touch at a time, hence the control problems with the emulator.

Is it possible to get an English (UK) dictionary rather than English (US)?

Is that a resistive screen rather than capacitive? Only had my tablet a few days and have predictably been playing a lot of Angry Birds.

I haven't bothered with any games on mine at all, and I've had it about a year, maybe longer now?

However I did use it to google how many ounces are in a number 2 can for a customer at work today.

She was quite pleased, she needed pineapples :D

My wife, who owns a Samsung Galaxy S2, swears by Fruit Slice (free) and Angry Birds.

Get yourself a Zeemote. They are a bluetooth game controller you can pair with the phone. Makes gaming a hell of a lot easier.

They intended for Noka phones, but using Bluez IME off the Android Market will allow you to use a Zeemote with your Android phone. The Bluez IME software lets you set up keymapping profiles for your android games or emulators, so you can easily use it with Marvin Spectrum emulator, etc (or any other game / piece of software).

I'm rather partial to a bit of Racing Moto at the moment. It's just like filtering down the A3 during rush hour (or "rush 2 hours" as it pretty-much is now).

73137 is the score to beat (which I'm sure will not be too difficult given I am generally crap at all games) :)

It's pretty inaccurate as the cars indicate in this game!
It's a fun game. I can only manage 52000 at the moment.
