10 hours 40 mins. and i wasn't rushing through, took my time exploring reading logs, looking out the window. ;)

i guess it was quick as i knew what i was doing baddie wise and wasn't experimenting with guns.

    still a great game though.

i will fire up the first one and see how long that took me, can't imagine it was anything longer than 15 hours.

Same here. On this run I'm not bothering about reading the logs, but I am upgrading the guns and changing suit a lot so I might get this done in the 9 hours I did in the first run.

IIRC, my Dead Space runs were under 10 hours aswell. I'm pretty sure they're both the same length, but because we're used to the necromorphs we know exactly how to deal with them. Even the new ones.

I've got the first Dead Space, but I've never really been able to get into it. I can see why everyone has been raving about it though as it's got great atmosphere etc and it looks fantastic, but I'm not really a fan of those kind of games. I hate having limited ammo (I'm rubbish at lining up shots) and this is the main reason that I don't play these games very often.

I have been thinking about buying the PS3 version though because that comes with "Extraction" as a freebie. I've been downloading the demo for it for the last 3 days now (it's over 3gig in size and PSN is rubbish when it comes to downloading. It'll make good progress, then suddenly stop for an hour before starting again!). When I've had a decent go at that, I'll decide if it's worth buying or not. I know I could buy it on the Wii, but I get a crap picture with that these days :-(

My saves on DS1 are 9 hours. The same for each difficulty (easy to impossible) so DS2 is about the same length.

Just finished my second run this afternoon and got the Nanny (kill 30 Crawlers without exploding them - easy with the Force Gun) and Necro Flambe (kill 50 with the Flamer - I forgot how good the flamer was!).

I still haven't looked at the multiplayer yet.

I've been playing Super Streetfighter IV for the last couple of days, needed to give GTA IV a wee rest methinks.

But I partially played this game because of a lack of time for GTA IV, nothing like a fighting game for a quick blast, sadly enough yesterday I absolutely murdered the game with Dan!!! Dan of all people

I'm even using the title you get from beating the game with him for my status, because he's so crap that it's funny, and I love the fact that one of his ultra combo's is the Hoah Ga-Do-Ken, what with his ponytail and all he's like a camp Robert Garcia from Art of Fighting/KOF. I also love the fact that he kicks off too much power with it and it sends him flying backwards and rolling around on the floor.

I am going to make it my goal to get good with Dan, then when I finally get my machine online I'm going to kill you all with the mighty Dan, just to embarress you.

Let's face it, nothing worse than getting beaten by Dan, used to do it to my best mate all the time, when we both picked Akuma it'd be an evenly matched murder fest or turtle match. But I used to love waiting for him to pick Akuma then beating him with Dan, I could see the venom on his fangs when I did that

My best mate, and a load of my other mates couldn't do the Raging Demon with Akuma, and they didn't know you could knock him out of it with a weak jab either. When we used to play SF Alpha II on my Saturn or SF Alpha III on PS1 so I used to make a point of getting my super bar full for both rounds and finishing both rounds with a raging demon. This was another thing that used to get my friends saying they weren't playing if I went first (we used to play winner stays on, but they only people who had a chance of staying were me and my best mate ).

Man I've rambled, ewgf would be proud, but anyone who likes oldskool style fighters will know why I've rambled on so much :D

I'm still playing nothing but NBA 2K11. Starting to get really good at it now, but it's taken a lot of trial and error, and training. Got drafted to the Knicks, they dumped me after three games, I got demoted to the D-league, then after another five or so games I was snapped up by the Houston Rockets for a five-game temp contract, got a couple of "player of the game" awards, and now they've signed me for the whole season. Yay! They were bottom of the conference when I joined, now they're just below halfway. I really feel I've helped the team. GO TEAM!!

    Great game, loving it...

Okay, I maybe shouldn't have upgraded the Contact Beam before getting the C-Section achievement

Everytime I try to get it, the stasis makes the body go into funny wee spinning patterns in the air. But it's already dead! And I'm playing it on normal. Hopefully the burnt looking ones near the end of the game are a bit stronger HP wise and I can get it then.

Weapon wise I only need to get the Shock Therapy and Sampler Platter. I thought I only needed to use the Pulse Rifle to get the Sampler one, but no. Would using the Ripper on the pack count as killing a necromorph? I think that's the only weapon I haven't used on one of the "grown-up" necromorphs. Oh, except for the non-Zealot Force Gun and the Refurbished Plasma Cutter.

Then It'll be onto Zealot and Hardcore.

yeah i made that mistake too, i had to de-node it. ;)

the shock therapy one was really easy, i think i did it on one of those prenant guys, and its little babies counted towards it.

ive only really got the decompression one to go now. looks like i might have to have a 3rd pay through for that. oh and the elevator one is still to do i think, but i will have to check to see if i have not got that on the first playthough, i know i have a secret one, so am assuming it is that one.

I forgot about de-noding the gun

I killed the babies from the fat bugger with the flamethrower but they didn't count towards the flamer achievement. I'm sure that's what I did in DS1 but it didn't work here.

The lift is a secret achievement (check here for a list of the secret ones) and it's a pain to do. I got it on my 4th try. I used the Force gun to do it with, but you'll need to max the reloading speed and capacity. You might need to do the damage aswell, one hit should be enough to see them off, but it depends on how much of it hits them. I stood just behind the middle (towards the door) and that helped keep my bearings so I didn't waste turning round to the door.

Just finished Assassins Creed 2. Seriously good game and the end, while still a bit underwhelming, did nicely leave things on a knife's edge for the next adventures. I might even go out and buy Brotherhood!

What next to play then, I wonder? Dead Space 2? Finish Red Dead Redemption/Oblivion/Fallout 3? Or maybe just get back to coding on Zero and add some more features? Hmmm.... decisions, decisions.

These are all ace, so I'd go for any of them if you can't be bothered adding features to Zero! :D

I've still to finish Assassin's Creed 2....it's a brilliant game though! I've went back to Red Faction - Guerilla for the mo'..... excellent game for stress relief! You get to smash everything up with a hammer!

I don't own a single one of them

I would buy them, or at least one of them, but the sheer lifetime that GTA IV is sucking away from me there's no point, it'll be at least another 2 weeks before I come close to finishing it, and after that I have The Lost and Gay Tony to play through as well.

So maybe I'll buy Fallout or Red Dead in April maybe May?

I've just been playing Night Trap using the Kega emulator! After several failed attempts, I've finally managed to get a Mega CD game running using my original cd's :)

Was it worth the wait and effort? Yes actually! Although I had no idea what was goin on, I can see why this game was so talked about when it came out. OK, so te FMV is of a very low quality, but back then, it will have impressed the hell out of me (it's only really been the last 7 or 8 years that I've stopped being impressed when a game has sampled speech  )

When I have more time over the weekend, I'm going to dig out my other Mega CD games and give them a spin.

On a side note, apart from making an ISO of the games, is there anyway to stop my PC's cd drive from spinning at 52x (or whatever it is) when it's playing these games? I don't like having my cd playing for so long as the drive gets kind of warm and it'll probably wear out.

I only need to do the javelin alt-fire and difficulty achievements for DS2 now.

Surprisingly the Pack or Stalkers doen't count as Necromorphs. I had to kill the burnt looking adult 'morphs with the Seeker and Ripper to get the Sampler Platter achievement. I'd already used the Ripper on the Pack to get that achievement in the church when you first meet them. And I'd used the scope on the Seeker to kill a Stalker.

Finally got it though so now I just need to get the impale with a Javelin then use the alt-fire to kill 3 others. I think I might do it on one of the things stuck to the wall that has 6 tentacles coming out of it. If I wait long enough there should be a few of the little turds near it to get killed by the shock.

I'm not sure if I'll meet any more of those things though, I'm already on chapter 10 of my 3rd round (on normal now) so I may have to wait and get it on the next difficulty instead.

    Still loving the game.

Even though I've had a whole day where I could've played games I er haven't, so I guess I'm still playing GTA IV.

I did however pick up Madworld for the Wii earlier for $9.99, funny thing is it's the same copy I mentioned that I stashed at gamestop a few weeks back

I didn't go back for it the day after I stashed it but it was still hidden on the bottom shelf at the store hidden inbetween several shovelware titles, I found it quite amusing.

Also since I really enjoyed the first game I bit the bullet and parted with $14.99 for Yakuza 2, I know that game isn't going to get any cheaper as people playing part 3 and 4 on PS3 buy up the PS2 copies for their collections.

Also just bought a 42 inch, 1080 res TV, with a 120hz refresh rate, shit I remember when 50hz was standard and 60hz was super awesome!!!!!

All I need now is the Zealot and Hardcore. I got the Javelin one when you kinda go to the past in chapter 10 (trying not to spoil). When you get back to the platform there's a burnt 'morph with those babies hanging on it. Use the javelin on that and you've got it. Those wee things do sometimes count as enemies, but they're not 'morphs and they don't count for the flamer.

I'm almost up to the Step 3 part again. Man, that bit's annoying.

I went back to this for a while yesterday. I've only unlocked 15 achievements, and I'm still only level 19, so I've got tons to do. I find I get bored of the game quite quickly these days though, I might have to leave it a while longer until I really fancy a go again.

Just been playing Bully: Scholarship Edition. Anyone here got 100% completion? I'm at 99.74%, apparently (according to an online guide), I need to keep doing errands to make up the rest, but they just don't pop up at all anymore. I've read somewhere that a good way around this (it's a known bug) is to save where there are usually errands and keep reloading the game until they appear. I've been trying this for the best part of an hour and no joy. What a swizz!!

Aye, the fact that I love Skool Daze and GTA goes a long way towards how much I love Bully... it's very much a marriage of the two games, in my opinion. Although I like the additions they've made to the 360 version, the PS2 version is better just through it's lack of bugs (which the 360 version is full of). Still a great game either way though, if it's your cup of chai...

suppose its the type of game, ive tried gta too but it doesnt stick with me, suppose im really that into the adventure type games or the modern free roaming ones

i still prefer games like manic miner or pacman

although saying that i used to love the older resi evil / zelda games, although i seem to have lost interest in em later on.
i suppose not having time to concentrate on them for long periods these days may be part of the problem, i prefer pick up and play for a minute or an hour type games.
    a quick fix

Still playing GTA IV, been playing about 1 or 2 story missions a day whilst doing a load of other crap, done all the most wanted that I can for now, became a vigilante (after 20 vigilante missions, no idea what it does or unlocks? Normally on the other GTA games you get body armour or a health boost or something but I haven't noticed anything yet?).

Met 8 random people so far, I magine there's more as I've already done more than 1 mission for Jeff? Got 3 or 4 girls on the go, I'm trying to get them all eating out my hand and keep all my friends sweet so I can use their special abilities. I haven't got Packie as a buddy yet I'm still working for him, and I need Kiki and Kate's specials unlocked, and Carmen's is useless it only works once in a blue moon.

The only one I haven't bothered with yet is the one I really want to avoid....Brucie, what a dick! But I know I have to do all the stupid stuff with him to get the 100% Needless to say his like and respects are not at 100% they've been teetering around 68% since I stopped working for him, he's just such a bellend I've been avoiding him, but I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and do his stupid races and helicopter rides eventuallybefore I unlock Alderney if possible

Oh and BTW cheers Greencard for the tip on cancelling the plans, haven't lost any respect or fanny points since then, I just never tried cancelling before cos' I assumed it'd be an automatic thumbs down from whoever you ditched :D

Oh been flip flopping this game with Super SF IV as well, sad that the only characters I've managed to finish the game with are the head swappers, and Sagat

Guess I really need that Dragon Punch :D

    No worries.

Been playing Just Cause 2 again since reminding myself of it in another thread. I spent most of yesterday's session just going from settlement to settlement, blowing stuff up and collecting faction and resource items. I think I've clocked up something like 32 hours so far, still not even halfway through it all (according to the achievements). Great stuff.

Also downloaded a couple of interesting Indie titles.....

Googly Eyed Splitters...a fun wee platform puzzler...

and Bird Assassin.....a shoot-em-up where you have to avenge your father's death at the hands (wings?) of birds by going on a rampage...
