The usual eight compass commands just change the viewpoint. To move you have to type MOVE - or just M. There's an old chap called Harold in the tower who might prove helpful.
Here's the recognised verbs; mostly they can be abbreviated to four letters; compass directions, movement & inventory can use just the initial letters:

Anyone have info on this game?
attack, can, cast, douse, drink, drop, eat, examine, face, fight, get, give, grasp, hit, hold, inventory, kill, light, list, load, look, magic, move, pray, read, remove, rest, save, say, search, spell, status, take, talk, tell, wear.
I'm not sure about "can" as a verb; on its own it gives the response "Talk to who?".
