Amstrad CPC users...help?

I'm in need of a bit of help. A programmer has some CPC software on disk that need transferring to tape, so he can get the games released on the Cronosoft label.

I don't have a working CPC with disk drive at the moment - is there anyone who could help me out?

In fact, it would be even more ideal, if I could get it across to an emulator, so I can make a WAV file.

Well, I don't have an actual CPC handy (you could try asking in comp.sys.amstrad.8bit)but I'll just point out that the +3 can read CPC format disks so you should be able to use one of those to transfer it, assuming you have one that is!

Why not ask one of the STP/SDP people to transfer the data to a image file? One of these kind people are goign to extract the files from some CPC 3" discs for me (which I'm donating to this worthy cause)

    Yep,

Send 'em on over :). I can dump a EDSK image with my P75 with a 3" drive connected and usual drive adaptor:

    http://newton.sunderland.ac.uk/~specfreak/FD1/GPsAdaptor

From here it's possible to use the images in an emulator or even mount the image and extract the files needed.

I can probably do whatever is needed to be done to get the data to you.

Just drop me a PM and I'll be happy to help you out.

    Best wishes

Thanks guys! I'll contact the programmer, and as soon as I receive the disk, I'll be in touch.

What a nice bunch of people :)

Hey Andy, I won a 'new' 3" drive on ebay last year. I finally opened the package today and lo and behold, no adapter required :D

Drive has a standard 5.25" drive connector and standard power connector. Just needed a floppy cable with the 5.25" as well as the usual plugs on it from Maplins.

    Cheers,
