WYZTracker player

edited April 2011 in Development
Where can I find a player and some info on how to compile the tunes I've made in WYZTracker program?

I have .mus and .asm files from WYZ Tracker, just need a player.

Its a very easy program to use even though I don't understand much Spanish.
Shame it doesn't support pitch bend though.

Thanks.

    Hi, FrankT

This is an example used in I Need Speed game. You have to change:
    .INCLUDE	"C:\EM\BRMSX\PLAYER\TRACKER\highway.MUS.ASM"

    with your generated .asm file

Open this (.asm) file to check the labels for "SONIDOX" and "PAUTAX" and change it in the code.

also, you have to include the module file (.mus) in this line
    .INCBIN	"C:\EM\BRMSX\PLAYER\TRACKER\highway.MUS"

    Player code:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=3b535dc7bd0d7ab21f8e0fff488e27e0e04e75f6e8ebb871

    Assembly it with PASMO.

... you are right Metal, ACDC's Highway to hell and this code was a previous test not included in your game. :P

    Thanks a lot. :)

I'll have a few of my own tunes finally playing on my speccy hopefully.

I'll post links here to the completed tunes, so that they can be put to use if anyone wants them.

    Cheers.

I've been having some trouble getting it to work.

I got a tap file of a tune, but not sure how to execute it. I tried,
    10 LET l=USR 32768
    20 PAUSE 1
    30 GOTO 20

But just get a blue border and lockup.

    Files
    .tap
    .wyz

    .asm
    .mus
    PLAY37.ASM

    pasmo --tap "PLAY37.ASM" "adagio.tap"

    Thanks.

This mail address doesn't work. I get this message returned with my mail.
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

    @Frankt ,try this other: jvicentemz[]gmail[]com

I've tried your module where you have used more than 3 channels for each pattern. Try to reduce 5+sfx to 3+sfx.

Anyway write me and I will send you a few samples for testing.

    Regards!

It works ok with 3 channels, silly me.

Still, it means I can't do chords only octave ornaments.
Are there any plans to add +-12 notes instead of just +1 or -1 octave?

    Thanks.

Thought i'd do a classical guitar tune.

    Asturias by Isaac Alb?niz

Not quite finished yet it yet, about 70 bars of 168 done.

The instrument needs a sharper attack I think.

To me, that sounds really, really good! - have just finished watching an exceptional 'You Tube' performance of John Williams playing this in a large, empty hall way

When you're finished with that can you do Hocus Pocus and Classical Gas ?

    ;)

Coming soon you'll see me playing it in a large hall. I'm hopefully playing at the Avenue Theatre in Sittingbourne soon, if they have a charity event this year. Solo classical/flamenco guitar. Will record it to upload to my dailymotion site.

I have 45 mins, set list so far is Capricho Arabe, Cavatina, Sleeping Girl (Juan Martin), Natalia (Vals Criollo), Columbianas (Paco Pena), Fieste Lariane, Sonata in D Minor (Bach-J.Williams), Sakura, Zambra Mora (Paco Pena), Recuerdo de la Alahambra and Asturias. I'll have to pad it out a bit with some simple stuff I can sight read on the night.

I know Classical Gas so will be no probs, will have to check out Hocus Pocus.

New Site and improved WYZplayer has been uploaded few months ago.

    https://sites.google.com/site/wyzplayer/

The most important feature improved is buffer lenght. $40 bytes is enough for playing music instead of the huge RAM amount used in previous versions so now you have a lite code / modules with the minimun memory reserved.

Also you can check a few samples in download section.

Erm. It doesn't have such features?
I don't fully understand why You don't use SoundTracker instead.
By the way, Your site http://frankt.co.cc ( /spec/asturias.tap ) is dead.

I guess the main features of WYZ tracker is compact music data and player (smaller than even ST's), and ability to play sound effects.

This new player indeed plays ornaments (Gasman "style" sample available). The tracker still not...

    Found it in the end:

Very nice. Waveforms and the total size were the reason I stuck with VortexTracker when I was still working on ZXU4. If you get the modulation just right you can fake the sound of the 6 channel AY Mockingboard from the Apple ][:

    http://zxu4.z88dk.org/stones.mp3

Nice to know that WYZtracker can do this kind of thing too now. Perhaps if I were doing things over I'd use it instead. That's never going to happen though.
