Various Speccy Bits - microdrives +D and Sam Coupe Stuff

edited April 2011 in Sales
I have been a long time speccy fan and have amassed a massive collection of the many years. About a year ago I decided to build an online shop to buy and sell retro gaming stuff (not just speccy). It has taken a while to put the the items in there (about a 1000) and I am now about half way there. I think there is several hundred Spectrum items, including games on cassette and +3 disk, boxed and loose computers, and various interfaces and drives.

Please have a look around and leave me any feedback on the site. Please be kind though, this is my first post anywhere for feedback.

Thanks, yeah the Sam Coupe is a great machine, there is two on there, one with a box, it's such a high price cause I guess I don't want it to sell.

My favourite item was The Ultimate Collected Works on +3 Disk. I never knew it existed. Again I put it on at a really high price (to help with google ranking), but it sold.

    Here is the sold link:

The site is fine, seems well put together and I had no problems browsing.

I was put off by the prices though... I think ?64.99 (plus ?9.99 postage) is too high for a "loose" Spectrum 128k heatsink, and ?19.99 (plus ?1.99 postage) is far too high for a damaged Professional Adventure Writer!

But that's just me. There are obviously other people willing to pay that much, so that's fair enough.

Hi, you are quite correct about the PAW I'll be changing the price on that a little later today. Though the 128k toastie I sold one on ebay for ?69.99 just a couple of weeks back: Link here. So I thought ?64.99 might be ok.

I was thinking about putting in a best offer button...?

    Anyhow thanks for the feedback...

A best offer button would be a good idea. Anything that can attract an offer is surely a plus.

I think you should have knocked more than ?5 off for a loose 128k heatsink. It'll cost you more than ?5 to get the missing power supply (postage on these is quite high), cables and games (depending on what they were). ?54.99 is more of a tempting price point.

Nice site though, and really I'm just jealous that you have so much retro goodness! ;)

Well spotted I didn't upload any images of the PSU, RF or Ear/Mic leads which they both come with. Also one comes with both manuals, the standard + manual and the 128k supplement.

Actually they were both on sale last week for ?59.99 with a bunch of other items. I had a bit of a celebration for the zx81's 30th birthday. I have now changed the price of the one without the manuals down to ?59.99.

I mostly put items on late at night, guess I must be having too many glasses of red.

I think I'll try and implement the "Make Offer" button in the next week or so.

    Again thanks for the help.

I totally misunderstood - I took "loose" to mean just the machine, and the pictures seemed to back this up. I would change "loose" to "unboxed".

?64.99 including all necessary leads and manuals, and ?59.99 without manuals, is probably about right.

I see you dropped PAW to ?9.99, which is much better.

Thanks for having the courtesy to take on board my comments. :)

Click-through pictures don't seem to be displaying properly in Chrome browser. OK in Firefox, so not sure if it's your sites' issue, or Chrome's? Just thought I'd mention it.

    Some nice items, BTW.

Quazar (the source for all things Sam Coupe) always has them for sale, and will even customize them for you. SellMyRetro (Rich Mellor's retro auction site) may also have them for sale sometimes.

Nice site. I like the way the items are displayed, visualized and the way the entire thing works.

Not always ;) Not had any for a while - with the current prices they go for on eBay it's not been worth my while to buy up SAMs and recondition them.

I've been surprised just how many old (1989/90) SAMs have been on eBay recently that have been 256K with no disk drives... I've got plenty of my memory upgrades and disk drive systems available to get them up to a standard spec, and of course I always have the whole range of hardware that I've designed, software and SAM Revival magazines available!

Thanks for that. There is always one that's a pain. I'll take a look into it this week.

Any progress on this? There is at least one item I'm waiting to make you an offer on. :)

Ooops, sorry. I have been on holiday for the past week. So I have not had time to implement it yet. It should be up and running this week. In the mean time just email which items and what your offer is or post it here.

    Cheers
