Joystick Interfaces?

OK, forgive me if this is a dumb question, but...

I bought a +2 Speccy a little while ago, and I've been struggling to find joysticks that work with it. I have a Speccy specific 'stick but it doesn't work properly, so I decided to get a joystick interface so I can use my other joysticks.

I bought one (again on Ebay) but when it turned up it wouldn't connect to my +2 - the only place I can see where it would go is in the expansion port at the back, but the interface connection is the wrong size to slot in there and there ain't nowhere else it could go!

My question is this : Was there a different type of interface for the +2 models? Or am I doing something wrong?

So did you end up buying a joystick interface then? Cos I'm finding that Spectrum-specific joysticks are very hard to come by, whereas the standard Atari types are everywhere...

I bought a Plus2 Joystick (IIRC) from THX1138 who is a member of this very forum...

You could always buy an Atari style to Spectrum converter from http://www.sintech-shop.de/

Or do as I did, and make one yourself

Or you could cut the plug off any kempston compatible joystick and just rewire it to fit the +2 internal joystick ports?
