    Don't shop there then

I think half the small business owners who complain about all TESCO's evil tactics and big corporate muscle are just jealous that they didn't think of them, or invest their profits into expansion.

I don't.....i shop at Morrisons. Tesco are the antichrist and must be stopped at all costs!
Maybe thats going a little too far........
    The trouble with tribbles is.......

Rupert Murdoch is the Devil, shopping at Tesco is mild compared to paying for Sky.

it was about tesco destroying the community............police cars are always a target when a protest turns into a riot situation, they become your enemy not your friend

I'm always a bit skeptical of "Tesco destroying the community". If the community didn't shop at Tesco, they wouldn't be able to destroy anything. It's not like Tesco executives petrol-bomb local shops overnight so there's only Tesco left.

So surely it's the community destroying itself by patronizing Tesco instead of the local stores?

could it have been a ploy to try and get publicity by doing it on the very eve of the royal wedding? or just coincidence?

well whats happening in the US is more important than 1 shop in bristol.

some of it just seems like opportunist looting tbh.

Someone told me earlier that the Tesco Express there doesn't sell booze. Haven't checked to see if it's true. If it is, there's not too much point looting it really... :-P

Why do the BBC keep using the word "protest"?

If this was a story about students in Paris it would be a "riot"

what's the betting that the protesters were having a normal protest with no trouble and then rent-a-mob turned up to have a good barney... Like at every other riot.

    Yeah, definitely.

I saw a protest walk against building the Tesco, before it was built, and it was all very civilised, seemed to be a genuine peaceful protest by people who had taken an interest in what was going on.

I think this one divides public opinion a bit, some are for it and some against. It does seem to be the case though that if you were standing at any Tesco in central Bristol you could probably walk to another one within about 2 minutes...
