I knew there would be trouble at that park. When i heard about it i said 'i bet neds will invade it, use as an excuse to get drunk and cause trouble.'
Well, it is Glasgow after all.............
That's how Europe's monarchys came about - powerful warlords conquered dominions, established strongholds to hold them and then arranged for a tax regime to keep them wealthy and to fund further expansion or defence. These days things are rather different (royal wealth is inherited or distributed, with Parliamentary authority, via the civil list) but this still isn't an inheritance which came from someone working hard and saving up - it came from other people working hard and the taxman knocking at the door.
You're absolutely right, but that's no reason to dislike the royal family as it stands now (not that I'm accusing you of that, but there seem to be a lot of people that do) - they're as much mired in the current system as we are. I know one thing, I'd hate to have their lifestyle; they are born and bred for a role and can't escape that role without significant personal loss.
Removing the royals would be, if you'll excuse the pun, a right royal pain in the arse when it came to redistributing the wealth that they have accumulated.
Check of BBCs HD panorama. I spent quite a while looking at the Media village looking though the windows and underneath spotting the famous names and faces.

Sure, you're a WoS mod but that doesn't exempt you from being a Regular Good (Ol') WoSser, eh!
Live a little!
Is that better?
And so it is with life!
Unless your Charlie Sheen or possibly royalty.
So give up now, we won't hold it against you...
