D'you know, you remind me very much of someone who used to post here a couple of years ago. A long lost friend, as it were... ;)

Sinclair research is very much alive and kicking, and completely unreliant on Amstrad for its well-being. Check out Sir Clive's latest antics at

    what about a new spectrum?

    Well, there's the eM@iler...

If only Amstrad would get its arse into gear and produce a TV joystick thingy.

I don't want a TV joystick thingie if it's just got half a dozen games in it. I want one that takes camera-style memory cards so I can put my own stuff on it.

No, wait. Stuff it. It won't be the same.

I don't think I'd like to see a new Spectrum. The reason I'm into the Speccy is because I owned one (some) as a child - what fun would a new one be now?

ah, it would be fun though, if it was like a "long lost prototype" or something though.

Good point. Then it would be fun. If it were as you say, a long lost prototype from around 1990. Then I'd be interested.

I`d like it if the Pentagon or Scorpion were available here in UK... I`d pay quite a whack for one of those :)

Sadly I don't have any hopes about it. You would must to have some friend in ex USSR to buy the zx-models.

But instead of making new ZX, which are hundreds, even if this one would have 'SINCLAIR SPECTRUM' inscription, Sir Clive could simply give his blessing (and trademark ;) ) to every new zx model. :)

I really wish he would, although it never ceases to amaze me the way he doesn`t have anything to do with the machine or scene, like EVER...

I`ve just started using www.online-translator.com to be able to have a look at the russian webpages, and boy there`s a lot to read, and much harware that sounds interesting, including one that has two AY chips, six channel AY :) that would rock, it`s still my fave soundchip for music, even beating for me the Amiga`s, never mind the overated SID (Your a musician yerz? unless Im mistaken)...

Perhaps hardware talented people should combine their efforts more, as well as financial issues, although I know there`s a lot of interesting talk and help goes on here already amongst them....

I'm surprised there's nobody importing those machines and selling 'em in this country...

    yes, I am.
    time for advertising ;) http://ayriders.zxdemo.org/mp3.html

    the best AY music :)

...and about the new Spectrums - yes, I very regret most of the models are not available outside of Russia.

Most of the computers are really cool. They have interesintg add-ons which prove that ZX didn't die.

The only new ZX i managed to buy was a Sprinter. It IS a great machine, but - as far as I know - its producer-firm has died. Which is a huge pity.

please delete the "new spectrum" post.

    @yerz

Nice bit of advertising, I`ve downloaded most of the new album as well as the covers, and have to say how much I am enjoying the tracks. I already have the `You Are Adult` album and have played that many dozens of times, it helps with toothache as well, haha

Also the two mixes of Tatu are excellent, whatever guy mixed your Spectrum version with the original song did a cracking job, whoever thought we`d be listening to a chart hit with the spectrum doing half the music, that lovely speccy `low raaasping noise` works great with the lyrics.

@ AOwen, it`s funny how a Timex is given so much `Sinclair` compatibility and then the actual Timex machine of which it `was` is then emulated... very clever
